Searching here and there, yet getting nowhere
Until I found that I was in the right space
For you to come and rescue me from myself
In troubled times, my friends never know what to say
You would try to help, but I would always get in your way
Until I fell so low with no other place to go
Rescued me from myself
Now I can see the plan
I placed it in your hand
In you I trust and I believe
Your love, your healing power
I need it every hour
I know you hold my destiny
Cause when I fell so low
With no other place to go
You came along and rescued me
You rescued me from myself
(Now I can see the plan, I placed it in your hand)
In you I trust and I believe - Oh yeah
(Your love, your healing power, I need it every hour)
I know you hold my destiny
When I fell so low with no other place to go
You came along and rescued me
You rescued me from myself
You rescued me from myself
When I was searching
Here and there, and getting, getting nowhere
Until I found, I was in the right space
For you to rescue me from myself
You rescued me from myself
You came along
One day you found me
You rescued me
Now I can see
I placed it in your hand
I trust and I believe...
The song "Rescue ME" by Tramaine Hawkins is a powerful ballad that speaks about the power and impact that true love can have on a person's life. The song begins with the artist confessing that she had believed that she knew the true meaning of love. However, despite searching for it everywhere, she could not find it. It wasn't until she found herself in the right place that she realized that true love could rescue her from herself. She goes on to reveal that even though her friends tried to help her, she always got in their way, and it wasn't until she was at her lowest point that love came and rescued her.
