The band has performed at many national festivals including Coachella, Stagecoach, Summerfest, Bumbershoot, and Pickathon. In 2011, they performed at several large folk festivals such as Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Newport Folk Festival and 2011 ROMP roots and branches. They are scheduled to play the Sasquatch Festival, Bonnaroo, All Good Music Festival, Newport Folk Festival, and Lollapalooza in 2012.
2014 saw the release of Trampled by Turtles's seventh studio album, Wild Animals, on July 15th. The band tapped Alan Sparhawk, from the band Low, to produce Wild Animals. Sparhawk's influence is evident in the band's seemingly more alternative, high lonesome sound. The night of Wild Animals' release, TBT made their second appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman. On August 16th, Trampled by Turtles headlined a sold out show at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO.

Ghosts
Trampled By Turtles Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Are you hiding?
Born in the fire, babe
Poetry on our graves
I forgot so many names, but I'm trying
I think it's time to go
and maybe he doesn't know
that you're blinding
I need a night alone
The wind through the trees alone
But as if the glass alone, slow and shining
Lucy, where are you now? [x3]
Are you hiding?
The song "Ghosts" by Trampled by Turtles appears to be a melancholy reflection on a former relationship. The singer is addressing Lucy, presumably his ex-lover, asking where she is now and wondering if she is hiding from him. He describes their relationship as having been "born in the fire," which may allude to a passionate and intense beginning. However, he also speaks of "poetry on our graves," suggesting that the relationship has since come to an end and that their feelings for each other may have been memorialized but not sustained.
The singer admits that he has forgotten many names, but he is still trying to hold onto his relationship with Lucy. He feels that it may be time to let go, as indicated by the line "I think it's time to go." He notices the bartender is paying him little attention and may not realize or care that the singer is suffering, symbolized by the word "blinding." The singer desires to be alone, seeking solace in the sound of the wind through trees and the quiet of his thoughts. He is drawn to the "glass alone, slow and shining," perhaps finding comfort in a drink and its reflective surface. The repeated question of "Lucy, where are you now?" suggests that he is still haunted by memories of her.

@toezer
We never could shake it
Like there's nothing to lose
All the hearts that were breaking
We pretended we knew
There's blood on the hillside
The roots hold the landslide
Through pain and in young skies
I waited for you
There were ghosts in the forest
And they're calling to you
"Aw please just don't bore us
Whatever you do"
Never brighting by daylight
Never frighting by dark night
If I just keep it inside
I swear that it's true
Through breakers at low tide
Rough places and long rides
I'm constantly shaking
With the echoes of love

Just finished Ray Donovan and I had to listen to this wonderful song. RD may be one of the most criminally underrated series around! Loved it.

It was my favorite and have watched it several times. The last episodes of Season 4 and Season 6 are amazing----have watched both too many times to count. Brillian writing and acting. Bummer it was cancelled.
