The band has performed at many national festivals including Coachella, Stagecoach, Summerfest, Bumbershoot, and Pickathon. In 2011, they performed at several large folk festivals such as Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Newport Folk Festival and 2011 ROMP roots and branches. They are scheduled to play the Sasquatch Festival, Bonnaroo, All Good Music Festival, Newport Folk Festival, and Lollapalooza in 2012.
2014 saw the release of Trampled by Turtles's seventh studio album, Wild Animals, on July 15th. The band tapped Alan Sparhawk, from the band Low, to produce Wild Animals. Sparhawk's influence is evident in the band's seemingly more alternative, high lonesome sound. The night of Wild Animals' release, TBT made their second appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman. On August 16th, Trampled by Turtles headlined a sold out show at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO.

Trampled by Turtles Lyrics

To want something better, then the shape your in
The rain came at the break of day
Your light in the windowpane, said come on in
It's a broken heart babe, I know the sound
Feels like your hands, are nailed to the ground
It'll pass just like everything else
It's a hard earn victory
The life that come from you to me
Can never be wrong
Grown from a moment and a million miles
Here lies the stardust and it slowly dies
Borrowed from nothing come back half alive
And the stars the whisper blessings as you walk by
In Trampled By Turtles's song "Victory", the lyrics speak to feelings of loneliness and the desire for something better. The first verse acknowledges that feeling lonely is not a sin, and that it's natural to want to improve oneself. The rain coming at the break of day serves as a metaphor for renewal and the possibility of starting fresh. The line "your light in the windowpane, said come on in" suggests the idea of finding a welcoming home, either literally or metaphorically, after experiencing loneliness.
The second verse speaks to the pain that can come with heartbreak, echoing the sentiments of many songs in the country and folk genres. However, the following line "It'll pass just like everything else" provides some hope that the pain won't last forever. The chorus then declares that victory is hard-earned, and that the life that is created between two people is meaningful and can never be wrong. The final verse continues the theme of life's transience, with stardust slowly dying and the experience of being "borrowed from nothing" and "coming back half alive". However, the chorus reminds us that even the briefest, most imperfect life can be a triumph in its own way.
Overall, the song Victory can be seen as an uplifting anthem for those who struggle with loneliness, heartbreak, or uncertainty. The lyrics suggest that even in the midst of pain or difficulty, there is the possibility of finding a new home, starting fresh, and creating a meaningful life. The chorus reminds us that even if life feels fleeting or imperfect, the connections we make and the victories we achieve are worth celebrating.

They may not know it, but I consider these fellas friends of mine as well. They've rocked my house a few times and been so rowdy the neighbors got upset, and they've walked to school with me in the quiet mornings, and we still sit around and drink beer together from time to time.
