They enjoyed working together so much that they decided to create an album together. Co-written by all the group members, the songwriting and recording were accomplished over a ten-day period at Dave Stewart's house, as Dylan was due to go out on tour. Their first studio album, Traveling Wilburys, Vol. 1 was released on October 18, 1988. The band members were credited under various pseudonyms, all sons of a fictional Charles Truscott Wilbury, Sr. The album was immediately dubbed as one of the top 100 albums of all time by Rolling Stone, and was a critical and commercial success, spawning several successful singles and eventually reaching triple-platinum sales status in the US. Additionally, it was nominated for several awards and won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group in 1989.
The death of Orbison on December 6, 1988 prevented further full collaborations, and the band continued without him. In 1990, they released a second studio album titled Traveling Wilburys, Vol. 3. The intentional misnumbering is attributed to Harrison's sense of humor; additionally, the pseudonyms for all members were changed. The album met with less success than its predecessor, and the group eventually disbanded in 1990, their final released recording being the song "Nobody's Child", the title track of a benefit album released to benefit Romanian orphans.
In 2007, a compilation of both albums was released, entitled The Traveling Wilburys Collection. As well as both of the original albums, the release included bonus tracks and music videos; additionally, previously uncredited session drummer Jim Keltner, who appeared in some of the group's music videos, was listed as a member of the group, as was Dhani Harrison, the son of George who had assisted in some parts of the overdubbing of the previously unreleased material.

I get rattled even in my sleep
I get rattled, baby, over you
I get twisted, I get turned around
I get twisted, and I'm up then I'm down
I get twisted, baby, over you
Baby, baby, baby is there something wrong with you
Baby, baby, baby this is out of my control
It may look like nothing's wrong but deep down in my soul
I'm twisted - shaken - rattled
I get rattled, baby, over you
Rattled baby, over you
Oh, baby, baby, baby won't you save one night for me
Baby, baby, baby is there something wrong with you
Oh, baby, baby this is out of my control
It look like nothing's wrong but deep down in my soul
I'm rattled - twisted - shaken
I get twisted, baby, over you
Oh,I get shaken, I'm torn up by the roots
Yeah, I'm shakin', way down in my boots
I get rattled, baby, over you
I get rattled, baby, over you
Yeah I'm rattled, baby, over you
The song "Rattled" by the Traveling Wilburys is a love song that describes the singer's intense emotions when he is around his love interest. He feels rattled and twisted every time they meet, even when he is sleeping. Despite his overwhelming feelings, he cannot control them, and he begs his love to save just one night for him. He also senses that there might be something wrong with his love interest, though it might not be expressed externally. This implies that he is perceptive and sensitive to the emotional states of his partner.
The repetition of the lyrics "I get rattled, baby, over you" throughout the song emphasizes the intensity of the singer's feelings. The phrases "twisted" and "shaken" are used to further describe the depth and variety of his emotional experience. He seems to be in a constant state of agitation and confusion caused by his love, and he feels helpless in this regard.
The song has a simple structure, consisting of two verses and a chorus, which are repeated throughout the song. The instrumentation is also simple, featuring acoustic guitar strumming, harmonica riffs, and backing vocal harmonies. The overall tone is upbeat and jaunty, even though the lyrics describe darker emotions.
