[1] A South Korean band, TRAX (originally The TRAX) formed in the summer of 2004 by S.M. Entertainment and formerly produced by X Japan's co-founder Yoshiki. The name "TRAX" refers to "recording tracks", but also stands for the first letter of each original member's stage name, Typhoon of the Rose Attack on X-Mas. Originally a nu metal and alternative rock band, they changed to a straight pop rock sound when drummer Rose left in 2006.
In 2000, S.M. Entertainment decided to produce a rock group, which took them four years to materialize. The TRAX members, Typhoon, Rose, and Attack first appeared in the "2002 Survival Audition HeeJun vs. KangTa Battle of the Century" along with former TVXQ member Xiah Junsu and Super Junior's Sungmin and Eunhyuk. They debuted with single "Paradox" in July 2004. In May 2006, the drummer Rose left the band to pursue other interests. The band continued as a trio until 2007, when bassist Attack quietly disappeared from the band. In 2010, as a duo, the band released 2 mini-albums: "가슴이 차가운 남자" and "오! 나의 여신님". On November 10, 2011 TRAX made a return with their 3rd mini-album,"Blind", their first release in over a year.

The lyrics to TRAX's "Paradise" paint a picture of pain and suffering, but also of hope and dreams for a better future. The first verse asks what kind of pain is hidden behind fake smiles and eyes that have seen too much. The chorus speaks of a beautiful, dreamlike paradise that is the goal for the singer and their loved one. The second verse contrasts the current reality with the hope for a better tomorrow, and encourages the listener to stay strong and believe in themselves. The refrain of "Fly" reinforces the idea of reaching for something higher and achieving greatness.
The use of contrasting imagery in the song is notable - the pain and suffering is described in detail, but so is the paradise that the singer hopes for. This juxtaposition makes the dream all the more powerful, as it is a reprieve from the pain that is so present in the first half of the song. Additionally, the lines about the reality being "crazy" and the dreams being "real" highlight the transformative power of hope and imagination.
