Crave to own the night
White noise light
That shit is bright
Windows closed tight
But it still don’t alleviate
The sight
Crazy ass dreamsGot me in the streets
I’m doin’ thangs
That just ain’t me
With all my might
I’m trying not to walk
The finer line
It’s just like before
It’s just like before when
I woke from sleepin’
Believing
There’s something out
There for me and
Ain’t taken control yet
I know myself and believe
That
The night is best when
You leave it
Ooh ooh ooh
Living under the lights on
Broadway
Where anything can Happen
There’s no to limits here
Ooh ooh ooh
Sleeping under the lights
On Broadway
Some die here locked and Trapped inCan’t dream when livin’
Here
At the corner sits the Game
When it knows you by
Your name
What you wishin’ in
Exchange
Ain’t but a thang
There’s no glamour or the
Fame
Real shit gon keep you in
The game
If you don’t wanna make
A change
Won’t be the same
Jaded are lives that think
They know the night
Streets of fire
One life is dire
But if you hold tight
Might avoid and alleviate
The sign
And haunted are screams
So caught up in between
Out doing thangs
That’s unforeseen
Cause in the night
Better hope you can keep
A dream alive
Ooh ooh ooh
Living under the lights on
Broadway
Where anything can
Happen
There’s no to limits here
Ooh ooh ooh
Sleeping under the lights On Broadway
Some die here locked and
Trapped in
Can’t dream when living
Here
At the corner sits the
Game
When it knows you by
Your name
What you wishin’ in
Exchange
Ain’t but a thang
There’s no glamour or
The fame
Real shit gon keep you in
The game
If you don’t wanna make
A change
Won’t be the same
Get up
Gotta figure it out yeah
Been up
Now to look around ya
Thinkin’
Can it do without ya
Ya best
Not be sittin’ round yeah
Better
Find a way about ya
Get up
Get out, get a job yeah
The best
They can do is feel ya
Remember
You’re on your own yeah
Ooh ooh ooh
Living under the lights on
Broadway
Where anything can Happen
There’s no to limits here
Ooh ooh ooh
Sleeping under the lights
On Broadway
Some die here locked and
Trapped in
Can’t dream when living
Here
Ooh ooh ooh
Living under the lights on
Broadway
Where anything can Happen
There’s no to limits here
In the song "Lights on Broadway" by Tre Main, the lyrics portray a narrative of a person being captivated by the bright lights and allure of Broadway, symbolizing the seductive yet harsh realities of urban life. The opening lines set the scene of the city with "crazy bright lights" that seem to beckon the singer to own the night. The intensity of the lights and the struggle to find solace from them are highlighted, suggesting a sense of overwhelming stimulation and inner conflict.
As the song progresses, the singer delves into their inner turmoil, grappling with their own desires and the pressures of their environment. The juxtaposition of "crazy ass dreams" and engaging in activities that feel foreign to them reflects the struggle to navigate their identity within the chaotic urban landscape. The mention of trying not to "walk the finer line" hints at the internal conflict between staying true to oneself and succumbing to the temptations of city life.
The chorus emphasizes the relentless nature of living under the lights of Broadway, where anything can happen but also where some individuals become trapped and lose sight of their dreams. The imagery of being locked in and unable to dream conveys a sense of despair and loss of agency in the face of the city's unforgiving nature.
The final verses urge the listener to take action and find their own path amidst the chaos of city life. The repetition of "get up, get out" emphasizes the need to break free from complacency and actively shape one's own destiny. The lyrics convey a message of empowerment and self-reliance, reminding the listener that they ultimately have control over their own fate, despite the challenges and temptations that may surround them. Overall, "Lights on Broadway" serves as a poignant reflection on the complexities of urban life and the constant struggle to maintain one's identity and dreams in the face of adversity.
