The band was originally named NC17 but had to change their name due to some dispute with a US band of the same name. The original drummer was Morris Palter (from inception to 1997) who is now a reknowned percussionist and assistant professor of music.
The band released 5 studio albums in their time, but Greig Nori disbanded Treble Charger in 2006, ending its 14 year existence.
Greig Nori continues to work for Bunk Rock Entertainment as the manager/producer of Canadian Rock Band Sum 41.
Bill Priddle is involved with many projects post-Treble Charger, working with Broken Social Scene and Don Vail as well as releasing an album of solo material as The Priddle Concern
Trevor MacGregor was the drummer during what was the last 9 years of Treble Charger, thus making him the longest drummer to stay with them. He is now currently the drummer of Four Square.
On January 20, 2012, it was confirmed that the band will reunite (without Martin and MacGregor).
More's the Pity

I am on the brink of still
It's not all, it's true
Sitting on a sprinkler
Take my call and see
The receiver to your ear
When you bridge the leap
That there's not only one of me
Just look closely now
Count them all and you'll get three
That one's clever
This one's free but it's your favorite
I hate more's the pity
I've seen everything
I can only think is true
Check my windowpane
If you can't enjoy the view
I could fall for less
I believe a thing you say
Write it down for me
And it will all come into play
There's not only one of me
Just look closely now
Count them all and you'll get three
That one's clever
This one's free but it's your favorite
I hate more's the pity
Lined up in a row
Like little dolls, like bungalows
The reasons look the same
A newer version, same old game
I am everything
I am on the brink
I'm not anything
I could use a drink
Tell me what you see
You look close but it's not me
I'm not what you need
And I'll never, ever be
The song "More's the Pity" by Treble Charger is a confusing but thought-provoking piece with various interpretations. The first verse suggests that the singer is in a transitional phase in their life, on the brink of something new, but not entirely sure of what that is. They acknowledge that they are everything; they could be anything or anyone they want to be. They sit on a sprinkler, symbolizing their hesitation to take action.
The chorus speaks to the idea that there is more than one version of the singer. They ask the listener to take a closer look and count them all to get three. It's not entirely clear what this means, but it could suggest that the singer is struggling with their identity, perhaps even multiple personalities. It's possible that one of these versions is more authentic than the others, indicated by the line "this one's free but it's your favorite." However, the singer is cynical towards this notion and says, "I hate more's the pity."
The second verse refers to the singer's experience and wisdom. They claim to have seen everything and can only believe what they know to be true. They ask the listener to check their windowpane, which could symbolize a barrier between themselves and the world around them. The singer wants to connect with the listener and believes them, but only if they write it down.
The final verse speaks to the singer's frustration with being misunderstood. They are not what the listener needs, and they will never be. The reason for this could be their reluctance to act; they are on the brink but never taking the leap. This could be seen as self-sabotage or a fear of failure.
Overall, "More's the Pity" is a complex and enigmatic song that invites interpretation. It speaks to ideas of identity, transformation, and authenticity, with a healthy dose of cynicism thrown in.
