His father was a drummer and a musician. For his 15th or 16th birthday, his father got him some time in his friend's recording studio. He made his first record, which was mostly sold to his friends and family. At Idyllwild School for the Arts, an international boarding school east of Los Angeles, he studied classical guitar. In his senior year of high school, he signed a record deal with Geffen Records. After graduation, he moved to LA and began working with producers such as John Alagia (John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Dave Matthews) and The Laboriel Brothers (Sting, Paul Mccartney). Other than an EP, none of the recordings he made with Geffen ever came out. He was dropped from the label in 2008.
Subsequently, he toured and played with acts such as Steel Pulse, The Wailers, Matisyahu, Stevie Nicks, Ben Harper, Colbie Caillat, Los Lobos, Ziggy Marley, Rusted Root, and many others.
His album, KALA, written in Hawaii and recorded in Los Angeles, was released on August 21, 2015. It debuted at No. 2 on the iTunes singer-songwriter chart.[1]
Released on June 1st, 2018, The Fruitful Darkness was Hall's first completely independent release.

House
Trevor Hall Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
are you headed up north or down south?
back in the days of the old
a little bit of knowledge was told
about the sun about sky
about the winds and why they cry
in my dream I saw a man naked in ashes he said
that there is a road far beyond
far beyond the clouds and the stars
far beyond what you call God
I heard of a House, where death can not enter any more
many rooms in this mansion all covered in gold
over the oceans and seas they were, they were searching for me
but I hid in the crest of a wave, protected by the Lion's mane
humbled by the sight and the sound
let me tell you of the love I have found
I heard of a House, where death can not enter any more
many rooms in this mansion all covered in gold
Sits upon a land where misery has lost its grip
and the rains they shower all our fear away
well my body said just turn and run
but then I felt the light of the sun
in the heart that I thought had just died
started coming slowly alive
we awoke in the mansion above and
call it love
well my body said just turn and run
but then I felt the light of the sun
in the heart that I thought had just died
started coming slowly alive
we awoke in the mansion above and
call it love
I heard of a House, where death can not enter any more
many rooms in this mansion all covered in gold
Sits upon a land where misery has lost its grip
and the rains they shower all our fear away
I heard of a House, where death can not enter any more
many rooms in this mansion all covered in gold
The lyrics of Trevor Hall's song "House" express the sentiments of someone on a spiritual journey, searching for a higher meaning and understanding of the world around them. The singer poses questions to an unknown person, asking them where they are headed and reflecting on the knowledge passed down to them about the natural world. In a dream, the singer sees a man who tells them about a road that goes "far beyond what you call God."
The central theme of the song is the idea of a House, a metaphor for a spiritual haven where death cannot enter and love reigns supreme. The House is described as having many rooms covered in gold and sitting on a land where misery no longer has a hold. The singer has heard of this House and is searching for it, finding hope in the idea that it exists. The rain in the House is seen as a purifying force that washes away fear, bringing renewal and joy.
Overall, the song is a reflection on the power of love and spirituality to transcend the limits of our physical world. The House represents a utopian ideal, a place where pain, suffering and death have been overcome, and where only love and light exist. The singer is on a journey to reach this House, and the song encourages listeners to do the same.
