Randy Edelman (born October 6, 1947) is an American TV and film score producer who has worked on projects such as American TV show McGuyver and films such as Ghostbusters II, Twins and Kindergarden Cop.

For the 1992 epic The Last of the Mohicans, director Michael Mann originally asked Jones to provide an electronic score for the film but it was later decided that an orchestral score would be more appropriate for the historical drama. With a limited time span Jones hurried to re-fashion the films score for orchestra while also having to re-write musical cues due to constant re-cutting of the film. With the release date looming, Edelman was called in to score some scenes that Jones had not had time to do causing both to be credited with the films score.

However, this co-crediting meant that the popular and acclaimed score would be ineligible for consideration at the Oscars.

I’m a bodybuilder and I play this song when I’m in the gym. It puts me in a sort of trance like nothing else, as if I’m fighting to get to an end goal. Sort of in a barbaric way, I get into my own zone and become ultra focused with the song playing over and over again. The continuous beat of the drums pump me forward to get harder and stronger every set. And at the end of each exercise the song sort of gets louder and more ingrained in my head to go to my max, as if I have no choice. It’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced

I’m Mohican . I lived in the forest where this took place and lived next to the river. We had a tent in the primitive area. My earliest memory were coming out of my tent and the camp fire just starting. We would cook our breakfast over the fire and then bath we would walk down to the falls and bathe in the water refreshing. I was taught by the forest ranger mommy brother and Dr king. We would walk down the same paths as the native took. We would look for arrow heads in the corn field but know this was once the battle grounds. The hills beside the river were so beautiful green and lush. The birds and bear and deer and owl were there natively and the same bridges. I was barefoot and had a chance to dress like my ancestor. I still have a pair of beaded sandals. The love story was so enchanting. They made the story in a theater outside and we talked about the movie coming out.

I always remember my mom playing this while she worked from home, I always heard it. But I didn’t think that much about it, on thanksgiving I watch the move with her. But until we moved, she stopped playing it. I’ve been looking for the same soundtrack she listened to for about a year. And today I found it. Try the various different interpretations of it that are out there, everybody digests and hears music very differently, the very best aspect of music in my opinion, is that you can never predict how one person from another will interpret or react to music, my personal favorite is "40 Fingers" 4 guys play this on just guitars and it is absolutely amazing, they each compliment another in a way you just cannot imagine and for me I would try that because most people would not think it possible to do this piece on just guitars, so start there.

I tried my hardest to sleep when I did chemo. But I’d be in the chair all day and after a while of them pumping fluids in me I’d have to get up to pee 57 times. Medical marijuana made it bearable for me. I’d smoke before I went and about halfway through I’d take a puff off of a vape pen. Since I was there all day they’d give me a private room which was kind of nice. Now I get to do radiation and in less than four weeks I get to have the Whipple surgery. That’s not going to be fun.

@@bensims7501 Thanks. Started the radiation. Now they’re telling me surgery can’t happen until at least six weeks after my last radiation treatment which is Wednesday of next week. Part of me is glad because I’m not looking forward to that awful surgery, but then again I just want this cut out of me. I’ll survive the surgery. No telling what happens after that. Probably the cancer comes back. It does something like 85% of the time. But maybe the chemo got all the little bits of it hiding out wherever and the surgery will get it all.

I was 13 yrs old when i watch this movie alone at the cinema in 1992. Now i am 44 yrs old and it is year 2023 and i still listening to the whole soundtrack. This Promontary / The Kiss is still my favourite. MASTERPIECE of all time for me until my last breathe!

I watched this as a young kid with my Dad. I walked in his room one day with this tune playing my memories took me straight back to the day I watched it with my father now its kind of a tradition its a legend of a song and a kind reminder what my father means to me! I am native. We have not been raised traditionally, we always got a little info here and there growing up but I'm haudensaune, not Mohican so there was always a feeling of disconnection from these characters. Even with that, my sister and I would come home from School every single day and watch this. It can be as inaccurate and fantastical as it needs to be but it will forever be the tiny strands I have connecting me and my sister to our heritage
