Young Again
Trevor Something Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
When did I grow up, yeah?
I haven't a clue.
I dont act my age, no.
But neither do you.
Lets get high together
We can do whatever.
It will all be alright
Yeah, yea, yeah, yea, yeah, yea.
You make me feel young again.
Yeah, yea, yeah, yea, yeah, yea.
You make me feel young again.
Lets explore each other
one at a time.
You are like no other.
Is this a sign?
Lets get high together
and lets stay up all night.
We can do whatever.
It will all be alright
Yeah, yea, yeah, yea, yeah, yea.
You make me feel young again.
Yeah, yea, yeah, yea, yeah, yea.
You make me feel young again.
The lyrics of Trevor Something's song "Young Again" capture the feeling of nostalgia and youthfulness, as the singer reflects on his own maturity and finds solace in the company of someone who makes him feel young again. The opening lines express confusion and uncertainty about growing up, highlighting how difficult it can be to keep a grip on one's own sense of identity while undergoing the changes of adulthood. However, the singer is quick to point out that he doesn't act his age, and neither does the person he is singing to. This creates a sense of camaraderie and shared experience, as two people who feel out of place in the "adult" world come together to find comfort in each other's company.
The chorus, with its repetition of "You make me feel young again," emphasizes the transformative power of human connection. Despite the challenges of growing older, the presence of a cherished companion allows the singer to regain a sense of vitality and exuberance. This theme is further explored in the second verse, which focuses on the idea of exploring each other "one at a time." The intimate nature of this act suggests a level of trust and openness that is often difficult to achieve in the midst of the pressures of adult life. Together, the lyrics create a dreamy, optimistic atmosphere that celebrates the joys of companionship and reminds listeners that age is just a number.

this song makes me feel prematurely nostalgic. I'm young, but somehow i imagine myself as an old geezer, looking back on my younger days. Carpe diem!
