Songz was born Tremaine Aldon Neverson on November 28, 1984, in Petersburg, Virginia. Raised a military brat, he recognized his vocal abilities at the age of 14. Reluctant to sing, he began performing with encouragement by friends and family. Record producer Troy Taylor discovered Songz during a talent show, which led him to a record contract with Atlantic Records. After graduating from high school, Songz moved to New Jersey to begin his music career.
2004–2006: I Gotta Make It
While recording his debut album, Songz released mixtapes under the alias Prince of Virginia. He made an “answer track” to R. Kelly’s “Trapped in the Closet”, entitled “Open the Closet”.His debut album, I Gotta Make It was released in July 2005 by Atlantic Records. It debuted at number 20 on the Billboard 200, domestically selling over 10,000 copies in its first week of sales. Another single, Gotta Go, peaked at number 67 on the Hot 100 and on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, at number 99.
2007–2008: Trey Day
Songz released his second studio album, Trey Day, in October 2007. The album again had only featured guest appearances by Bun B, who appeared on the opening track, and Jim Jones. Production on Songz’s second album had included, Bryan-Michael Cox, R. Kelly, James Harris, Terry Lewis, Andrew Harr, Bernard Freeman, Floyd Hills, alongside Tamir “Nokio” Ruffin, Justin Haro, and M.S. Eriksen. The album debuted at number 11 on the Billboard 200, selling more units than his previous album, I Gotta Make It. The lead single, “Wonder Woman”, peaked at number 54 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, but failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100.
The second single, “Can’t Help but Wait”, peaked at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, and at number two on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart; it became Songz’s highest charting debut on the Hot 100, and his first-charting R&B single on the R&B charts.[citation needed] “Can’t Help But Wait” charted at number 74 on the Billboard Pop 100 in February 2008. The third single off of “Trey Day”, “Last Time”, peaked on number 69 on the Billboard Hot 100, and at number nine on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. In 2008, Songz was nominated for a BET Award for Best Male R&B Artist.

May day, trey day
Mr Thanksgivin'
Street anthem
DJ drama
So here we go with this again
Running at them lips again
Shit, all I hear is whisperin'
No matter what it is
She always start ta bitchin' n'
Trippin' n'
I almost started to call that girl a bitch again
So I blaze out the house
In a rage out the house
Shorty got a sharp tongue
She spittin' blades out her mouth
I throw my stunners on
I chop blades out the house
She get to growlin' and I'm out
It's like a cage in the house
Phone on silent
And I'm wildin' cuz I'm out
Five shots of Henny in
Man I'm makin' plenty friends black white domincain'
Back right
I break it in
I been drinkin'
Tryna take my mind up off all this yellin' and all the screamin'
But all that it is doin' is takin' me far from your lovin'
Got this girl in my ear
Tellin' me what I don't need to hear
I sippin' what I'm sippin'
And she bout to catch me slippin'
[Chorus x2]
I'm long gone missin' long gone missin'
An I'm up in this club with all of these women
This one said she wanna get me alone
You bad as hell, but girl I gotta go home
Now shes grindin'
And the way she poppin' dat thang
Droppin' dat thang

It ain't a girl in this world like mines
Wish u come find me (hope u hurry up)
Its gettin' heated up (gettin' heated up)

The song "Long Gone Missin'" by Trey Songz is about a man who wants to escape the negativity in his life, specifically the constant arguing and yelling from his girlfriend. He tries to drown out the noise by drinking at a club and being with other women, but realizes that none of them compare to the love he has for his girlfriend. The lyrics emphasize the theme of wanting to escape, both physically and mentally, from a toxic environment.
Trey Songz uses metaphors to describe the situation he's in, such as his girlfriend's sharp tongue "spitting blades out her mouth" and the illusion of being in a "cage in the house." He also contrasts the chaos at home with the fun and excitement of being at a club, with lyrics like "All I see is cuties booties bouncin' all around" and "Five shots of Henny in, man I'm makin' plenty friends black white domincain'." Despite the distractions, he ultimately can't ignore his longing to be home with his girlfriend.
Overall, "Long Gone Missin'" is a relatable song that touches on the universal theme of wanting to escape from the stresses of life. The catchy beat and memorable lyrics make it a popular choice for anyone looking for a fun and relatable anthem.
