1) Heavy Metal band from Belgium, formed in 1982. They were active until 1987. Pretty rare but truly West-Euro Metal in its most pure and gloriously blackened form. They released one demo and one EP.
In 1986 they signed with Belgium's Whiplash Records, with plans to release a full-length album in the fall of that year. At a studio in Holland, they recorded everything except for the vocals, when they were informed that the record label had gone bankrupt, and that they would have to pay for the studio time up to that point themselves in order to get their instruments back. Though they received the instrumental masters of the recording from these sessions, they have since been lost. Some of the songs from this session were, "Devil's Court" and "The Innocent." Vocalist Pat Savage quit in late 1986, and the band continued to rehearse until July 1987. There were 4 rehearsal songs from '87 that were put on YouTube for streaming, but have since been taken down.
2) Hardcore band from Seattle, Washington, United States. Since forming in 1994 the band has worked desperately to communicate their infusion of activism, emotion, anger and intensity in a world where people are more comfortable remaining sedate. Challenging that attitude, Trial has never given up, all the while fueled by a relentless desire to play hardcore music which is charged with political and personal fury.
3) A peace punk / post-punk band from San Francisco, featuring Cyrnai (ex-Treason/Sleeping Dogs/State of Mind). They released one 7" ("Inborn System") and one LP entitled "Moments of Collapse" in 1986.
4) A german EBM band from Hannover active since 1991.
5) A Swedish heavy metal band. They released their first album "The Primordial Temple" in 2012.

I don't think that I can take it anymore
Indoctrinated into cultural norms functionless forms:
"Dominate and bleed infect with greed" and we succumb...
I aggressive inherently am the illegitimate child
Of the gun intertwined with the dollar sign
And now as I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
For the rod and the staff have taught me all to well
These hands would drip with blood
If I traded truth for certainty
Power beckons to the unsure and afraid
The atavists of ignorance who initiate
Our bodies cast the shadow of everyone who has ever lived
And all the gods all the demons all the heavens
And all the hells are within us...
But that I privileged revolutionary could prescribe rites
Of passage for all? in preparing bloody defenses
Let our lineage remain clear:Armenia, Nanking, East Timor,
Cambodia, Rwanda, Iraq, Kosovo the shattered lives
And battered wives, underscored by forceful lies
Are inside of us, inside of me
I aggressive inherently could destroy humanity
I'm only one step away
One single blow unjustified
I'm only one step away
Caught between rule or be ruled
Want or want not
With no easy way out
The song "One Step Away" by the American hardcore punk band Trial is a powerful critique on the violent legacy of human history and how it continues to influence our present reality. The lyrics present a conflicted narrator who is struggling with the contradictions of their own nature - aggressive versus empathetic, violent versus peaceful. They are grappling with the harsh realities of the world they inhabit, where brutality seems to be the norm and morality is constantly under threat. The singer feels indoctrinated by cultural norms that prioritize domination and greed, and wonders whether they can resist succumbing to these poisonous impulses.
The song's message goes deeper, however, than just an exploration of personal morality. The singer recognizes that their own violent tendencies are merely a reflection of the larger forces at play in society. They see themselves as the illegitimate child of the gun and the dollar sign, the products of a culture that values power and wealth above all else. The singer is becoming the embodiment of all the evil and hate that surrounds them, unable to escape the shadow cast by centuries of oppression, war, and exploitation. The song makes it clear that we are all complicit in this legacy, with the gods and demons of every culture and religion existing within each of us.
In the end, the singer recognizes that they are only one step away from truly becoming a monster, capable of destroying humanity with a single unjustified blow. The choice to either be ruled or to rule, to want or to want not, is a difficult one, with no clear way out. The song is a warning about the dangers of violence and hatred, and a call to action to resist the primal impulses that threaten to consume us all.
