1) Heavy Metal band from Belgium, formed in 1982. They were active until 1987. Pretty rare but truly West-Euro Metal in its most pure and gloriously blackened form. They released one demo and one EP.
In 1986 they signed with Belgium's Whiplash Records, with plans to release a full-length album in the fall of that year. At a studio in Holland, they recorded everything except for the vocals, when they were informed that the record label had gone bankrupt, and that they would have to pay for the studio time up to that point themselves in order to get their instruments back. Though they received the instrumental masters of the recording from these sessions, they have since been lost. Some of the songs from this session were, "Devil's Court" and "The Innocent." Vocalist Pat Savage quit in late 1986, and the band continued to rehearse until July 1987. There were 4 rehearsal songs from '87 that were put on YouTube for streaming, but have since been taken down.
2) Hardcore band from Seattle, Washington, United States. Since forming in 1994 the band has worked desperately to communicate their infusion of activism, emotion, anger and intensity in a world where people are more comfortable remaining sedate. Challenging that attitude, Trial has never given up, all the while fueled by a relentless desire to play hardcore music which is charged with political and personal fury.
3) A peace punk / post-punk band from San Francisco, featuring Cyrnai (ex-Treason/Sleeping Dogs/State of Mind). They released one 7" ("Inborn System") and one LP entitled "Moments of Collapse" in 1986.
4) A german EBM band from Hannover active since 1991.
5) A Swedish heavy metal band. They released their first album "The Primordial Temple" in 2012.
Reflections
Trial Lyrics

And now the hour of desperation is at hand
We the maggots feed off the dead
Seeking solace in a bed of broken glass
We bleed infected water
Beneath bright skins of polished steel
Through empty, yearning, starved and frustrated hearts
This is a standard and sterile half-life to lead
Empty facades conceal slow decay
Within these new dark ages which breed discontent
To give up all hope to see the dawn
Reveals a victims face beneath the veneer
Struggling to show that it's been wronged
Led astray by the myths of the father
With ancient wounds often ignored
Fighting for scraps from the table
While slowly we rot on the floor
Struggling for balance amid these unholy lies
Reflecting terror and chaos
We are born into suffering
With constructs, icons, idols and eyes
Which manifest and forecast our fear of our own demise
But on the eve of the apocalypse
You can burn these words into my flesh:
"we are the tortured and insane disillusioned and mundane
Unknown and unnamed desperate and enslaved
And we want something more"
The lyrics of Trial's song "Reflections" paint a bleak picture of the state of humanity. The opening lines suggest that humanity is in shatters, with wreckage strewn across the land. The hour of desperation is now at hand, and humans have resorted to feeding off each other's dead bodies. The next lines depict the impact of this desperation on humans, who seek solace in a bed of broken glass.
The second verse suggests that humans are left with infected water, indicating a decline in living standards. Despite possessing bright skins of polished steel, they have empty, frustrated hearts, yearning for something that makes life meaningful. Instead, they lead a standard and sterile half-life, which is propped up by empty facades concealing slow decay.
The third and final verse reflects the immense struggle and pain that humans face, whether through fighting for scraps on the table or struggling for balance amid unholy lies. However, despite all the suffering, humans are looking for something more, something that can take away the pain and disillusionment they feel. The closing words talk about the utter desperation, madness and enslavement of humans in search of something more, despite being unknown and unnamed.
Overall, the song "Reflections" reflects a strong sense of despair and hopelessness among humans, who are grappling with various forms of oppression, from myths of the father to the consequences of living in dark ages.
