Tricia’s debut worship album, The Road (Deluxe Edition) (Inpop Records) June 7, 2011.
Tricia describes herself as "just a small town girl, living in a lonely world."
On Superchic[k]'s website Tricia shares that she "planned to go to nursing school after high school and doing missions for a while. God changed my plans and threw Superchic[k] and this opportunity my way, so i jumped and tried. I never would have put myself here, or guessed that God would make me a lead singer of a punk/rock band. I was shy, quiet mostly. A combination of introvert and extrovert. Teachers pet. I thought I'd go to college, meet a perfect guy, fall in love and live happily ever after. Of course God took those ideas and threw them out. Being in Superchic[k] has shaped me, grown me up, stretched me into who I am now. Much more flexible, go with the flow, enjoy traveling and take changes as they come girl. Totally the opposite of me as a kid! I wouldn't take back one thing about my life. I have seen God directing me, giving me choices but always leading."
She is married to Nick Baumhardt who is a guitar player, songwriter, producer. They have a dog named Sophie.
Lean
Tricia Brock Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
My path is never straight, I'm so uncertain
Your love is nothing less than a lamp unto my feet
So I can see
This world wants to steal your hope from my heart
But mercy's stronger still than my struggles are
Your love is nothing less than a life laid down for me
So I will lean upon the cross
I will lean into Your love
Your Spirit's living in me, alive in me
I will sing when there is no song
In the dark, Lord Your light is strong
Your Spirit's living in me
Your Spirit's living in me so I will lean
I will lean
You will not forsake my soul to darkness
You'll not abandon me for you are God with us
And I am nothing less than everything to You
Than everything to You
Leaning, leaning, safe from every harm
I am leaning, leaning, in Your arms, in Your arms
The lyrics of Tricia Brock's Lean speak about the challenges and trials of living a holy life. The singer acknowledges that her path has never been straightforward, and there are times when she feels uncertain. However, she can always rely on God's love, which is like a light guiding her steps along the way. Brock sings about how this world can attempt to take away one's hope, but even in the midst of struggle and adversity, God's mercy reigns supreme.
The chorus of the song emphasizes the importance of leaning on God for support. The singer proclaims that she will lean on the cross and into God's love. In times when there seems to be no song to sing, she will still choose to praise God. Even in the darkness, God's light is enough to make her feel safe, and she can trust in His presence with her always.
Overall, the song speaks to the struggles of living a life of faith, but also highlights the comfort and hope that come from trusting in God.
