Mr. Redd
Woah, woah
Big 14, know what the fuck goin' on (shh)
Gang shit, nigga (ha)
Thank you (ha), yeah (phew)
Feel like Ichigo, nigga, I'm a hollow (yeah)
Leave a nigga head lit, Sleepy Hollow (bah)
Pull up in a Dark Knight, Murciélago (skrrt)
And I'm duckin', dodging twelve and the potholes
I was raised by the motherfuckin' Glock, woah
Choppa hit him, make a nigga Diddy Bop, woah
Choppa hit him, make a nigga Milly Rock, woah (whoa, whoa)
Ha, send a couple shells (shells, bah)
Send a pussy nigga straight to hell (yeah)
I got racks (racks), clientele (yeah)
Brodie called, he won't be makin' bail, no
Damn, sad news (sad news)
Gettin' tired of the bad news (bad news), tragedy
(son, you finna do it)
Should I do it too? Bitch, I had to
Feel like Ichigo, nigga, I'm a hollow (yeah)
Talk down on the gang, you get some hollows (yeah, ha)
Leave a nigga head lit, Sleepy Hollow (bah)
Pull up in a Dark Knight, Murciélago (skrrt)
And I'm duckin', dodging twelve and the potholes
I was raised by the motherfuckin' Glock, woah
Choppa hit him, make a nigga Diddy Bop, woah
Choppa hit him, make a nigga Milly Rock, woah (whoa, whoa)
The lyrics of Trippie Redd's "Sleepy Hollow" tell the story of a gang member who is willing to do anything to protect his crew. The rapper compares himself to a character from the anime "Bleach," Ichigo, who is a "hollow" being that possesses immense power. Trippie Redd warns anyone who talks bad about his gang that they will be met with violence and aggression ("Talk down on the gang, you get some hollows"). He is not afraid to use his weapon, the Glock, which he has grown up with and sees as a part of his upbringing. He and his crew are constantly avoiding the police and dodging obstacles like potholes to carry out their mission.
The second half of the song takes a more personal turn as Trippie Redd reflects on the consequences of his gang lifestyle. He has news that his friend won't make bail and is tired of the bad news and tragedy that comes along with being involved in this lifestyle. He questions whether he should continue down this path, but ultimately decides that he had no choice but to embrace it ("Should I do it too? Bitch, I had to").
Overall, "Sleepy Hollow" is a gritty depiction of the dangerous and violent world of gangs, where loyalty is everything and violence is never far away.
