Slave
Tritonal feat. Ben Gold Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I need more than
You need me don't you
Pretend that you don't mind

I'm gone without you
You feel without me
Your life would just go on
I'm a slave to your love
But I don't mind
Cause you make me feel safe

I'm a slave to your love
but I don't mind
'Cause you make me feel so happy

Take me to the end
I'll chill about the side
Watch me fall for you
until we'll chill

We brought it down
on the pavement
I'll need you now
to break my fall

I'm a slave to your love
But I don't mind
'Cause you make me feel safe

I'm a slave to your love

but I don't mind
'Cause you make me feel so happy

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Tritonal feat. Ben Gold's song "Slave" explore the idea of being completely devoted to someone's love, even to the point of feeling like a slave. The opening lines, "I need more than you need me, don't you / Pretend that you don't mind," suggest a power dynamic in the relationship, with one person needing the other more than vice versa. However, the following lines reveal that both parties still feel incomplete without each other, with the lyrics "I'm gone without you / You feel without me / Your life would just go on."

Despite the feelings of being a slave to this love, the chorus emphasizes that it's not necessarily a negative thing. The repeated lines "I'm a slave to your love / But I don't mind / 'Cause you make me feel safe / 'Cause you make me feel so happy" convey a sense of contentment and happiness in the relationship, despite any potential sacrifices.

The second verse continues the theme of devotion, with the lyrics "Take me to the end / I'll chill about the side / Watch me fall for you / Until we'll chill." These lines suggest a willingness to follow this love no matter where it takes them, even if it means falling along the way. The bridge of the song, with the lyrics "We brought it down on the pavement / I'll need you now to break my fall," further emphasizes the idea of being dependent on this love to support and protect them.

Overall, the lyrics to "Slave" paint a picture of a relationship that may have some imbalances of power, but ultimately brings happiness and contentment to both parties.

will always remember the good old days of Tritonal. I hate when good producers stray from the pure path. RIP Tritonal

😭😭best years

@mixmastamikal

I honestly have wondered for a long time if this song was actually ghost produced. It has a very Ashley Wallbridge feel to it.

@xsubbiex7751

@@mixmastamikal probably is, back then there was a lot of "ghost producer" talks. I was actually friends with a lot of producers a decade ago that were ghost producers. It's highly possible.
