Chaves ou fechaduras
Bastava que empurrassem
Bastava que cá ficassem
Desde a porta da rua
Até o fundo do quintal
Eu vejo o cinza da chuva
Que agonia é essa que faz
O teu coração bater tão violento?
Que medo é esse que faz
A sanidade te fugir por um momento?
E perder a noção
Do que é real ou não
Enquanto a dor
Souber doer
Ai vindes outra vez
Tantas inquietas sombras
Ai vindes outra vez
Leitor das minhas entranhas
E perder a noção
Do que é real ou não
Enquanto a dor
Souber doer
O escritor caiu febril
E um punhado de palavras
Foram lhe visitar
E perder a noção
Do que é real ou não
Enquanto a dor
Souber doer
The lyrics to "Raso é o Rio Estreita é a Rua" by Troia convey a sense of confinement and uncertainty. The first verse speaks about not having keys or locks on the doors, suggesting a lack of security or control. It suggests that all it takes is a push to enter and to stay. This may metaphorically represent the vulnerability and openness that can be experienced in relationships.
The second verse explores a deeper emotional turmoil. It describes seeing the grayness of rain and the whiteness of salt, which can be interpreted as symbols of sadness and purity. The lyrics question the agony that causes one's heart to beat violently and the fear that temporarily takes away one's sanity. It explores the loss of the perception of reality, blurring the lines between what is real and what is not, all while enduring pain.
The chorus repeats the idea of losing one's sense of reality, acknowledging that as long as the pain knows how to hurt, this confusion will persist. The song suggests that the pain itself holds the power to distort one's perception of the world.
In the third verse, the song takes on a more introspective tone. It talks about the writer falling ill and how a handful of words come to visit him. This could symbolize the intersection between creativity and an emotional struggle. The lyrics once again emphasizes the loss of perception, reinforcing the idea that reality becomes blurred in the face of hardship and pain.
Overall, "Raso é o Rio Estreita é a Rua" reflects the themes of uncertainty, vulnerability, and the distortion of reality that can occur in times of emotional turmoil.
