The foundation may have far-reaching effects or consequences

No ball or chain just an ever so slight grade
There are no burdens or restraints holding you back, only a minor obstacle to overcome

Enough to keep a train rolling back to where it came from
The obstacle is still present, but manageable enough to return to the original point of origin

No rocks or gates or trail of bread crumbs
There are no physical markers or indications of direction

Just enough direction to follow the sun
There is a general sense of direction provided by the sun as a guide

Where else do we got to go?
If we cannot dream, where else is there to turn?

I mean if we can't dream
If we cannot envision alternate realities or possibilities

Then how are we supposed to know?
How will we ever gain new knowledge or experiences?

I'm mean if we can't breathe
If we are suffocating, choking, or drowning

Then how are we supposed to grow?
How will we ever develop, learn, or mature?

Because in this life we spend so much time
We set aside a significant amount of our lifetime

Processing information that is in our minds
Thinking and analyzing thoughts, concepts, ideas, and memories

Directly connected to the heart
Emotions guide our thought processes and provide meaning to our experiences

That's where this engine starts
Our emotions drive and motivate our thoughts and actions

And then it drives it from the dark
Our emotions lead us out of difficult or oppressive situations

One thing that nobody could take
Something that cannot be stolen, removed or destroyed

Are these thoughts and these dreams
Our imagination and internal creativity

That we've got when we're not awake
That we possess when we are not in a conscious state of mind

You can take my life or my home
You can literally take everything I possess

But you could never take my mind or my soul
My internal thoughts and emotions, my essence and spirit cannot be taken away
