Revelation
Trouble Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Troubled is the world
Evil in the air
God is here to help
When Satan casts despair
Beast upon the earth
Christians dying
Satan says, "trust me"
He was only lying
Poor souls of earth
In hates desire
Eternal death
In the lake of fire

We don't need no sympathy
From those of you who'll live
We believe in dying
For things that God will give

Lucifer will rule the earth
Seven years of death

God will grant eternal life
For all of you we pray

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Trouble's song Revelation describe the end times as described in the book of Revelation. The world is troubled, with evil in the air, but the hope lies in God, who is there to help when Satan casts despair. The Beast, as referred to in the book of Revelation, is upon the earth, and Christians are dying. Satan is tempting people by asking them to trust him, but he is lying because the price of trusting him is eternal death in the lake of fire. The poor souls of earth are consumed by hate's desire and are destined to suffer eternal damnation.

The next set of lines conveys the belief of the singer and their followers that they do not need the sympathy of the living, but they have faith in dying for the things God will give them. Lucifer will rule the earth for seven years, leading to chaos and death. However, the singer prays that God will grant eternal life to those who believe in Him.

The song demonstrates the belief of the singer and their followers in the afterlife, where those who trust in God will be given eternal life, whereas those who succumb to the devil's temptation will suffer the consequences. Through the lyrics, the singer aims to provide comfort and hope in turbulent times, reinforcing the belief that God's judgment and eternal life are to be sought after.

How did Trouble not get bigger? They are so underrated

Some say that Metallica tried really hard to copy Bruce Franklin and Rick Wartell's guitar tone, but Wartell supposedly disputes this. Still they do have their own signature sound. Trouble is a timeless band.

I've been a Trouble fan for over 30 years, and I keep coming home to one of my favorite bands of all time. Like capturing lightning in a bottle.

I have this album on cassette that I bought in 1984. When I first heard it, I was completely hooked. Can’t believe they never became bigger. Musicianship, vocals, song writing ... they had IT. Maybe everything that they wrote after this could never live up to their expectations! They don’t make music like this any longer!!

A banda trouble é puro Doom metal! Trouble é demais!
