Apa
Troublemakers Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Längst bak i kön har jag landat
Men känner sakta hur jag förvandlas
Nu är jag inne sent omsider
Blandar öl, sprit och cider
Förra veckan blev jag en tiger
Nu är jag en apa...en apa
Står och håller mig hårt i baren
Om några timmar vet jag svaren
När dimman tjocknar blir jag galen
Nu är jag en apa...en apa
The lyrics to Troublemakers’s song "Apa" describe a transformation that the singer undergoes while drinking at a bar. At first, the singer is at the back of the line, struggling like everyone else. However, as they begin to drink cocktails mixed with beer, spirits, and cider, they feel themselves changing. They become a tiger. Now, as they stand at the bar, gripping it tightly, they are on the cusp of transforming again. They know that within a few hours something will happen, and the fog of alcohol thickens around them. They will become an ape.
The lyrics are a commentary on the impact of alcohol on our behavior and self-image. Through the metaphor of transformation, the song captures the sense of release and wildness that can accompany drinking. However, it also suggests that this state is not entirely positive, and that we can lose control and end up behaving like animals.
Overall, the song is a powerful exploration of the way that alcohol can transform us, for better or for worse.

Står och lider som alla andra
Standing among everyone else and experiencing the same pain and suffering

Nu är jag inne sent omsider
I have finally made it inside
Blandar öl, sprit och cider
Mixing beer, liquor, and cider
Förra veckan blev jag en tiger
Last week I became a tiger
Nu är jag en apa...en apa
Now I am a monkey...a monkey
Står och håller mig hårt i baren
Standing at the bar, holding on tightly
Om några timmar vet jag svaren
In a few hours, I will know the answers
När dimman tjocknar blir jag galen
When the mist thickens, I go crazy
Nu är jag en apa...en apa
Now I am a monkey...a monkey
