Majorna brinner
Troublemakers Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
MAJORNA BRINNER
The lyrics of Troublemakers' song "Majorna brinner" describe the chaos and destruction that is happening in the Majorna district of Gothenburg, Sweden. The first verse suggests that there is a fire in the area, with the singer sensing the smell of burning and wondering who is responsible. The second verse reveals more details about the situation, including broken windows on the main street, a bank robbery, a school and a hot dog stand that have both been blown up, and a general lack of concern for the smaller things in the midst of the violence.
The chorus repeats the title of the song, which means "Majorna is burning," and asks the question, "What are we going to do?" The singer tries to call the police, but gets no answer as they have already left for the day. The last line of the song expresses a feeling of loss and nostalgia for what once was.
