This Time
Troy Shondell Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

This time we're really breaking up
This time we said way too much
This times for all time
How about this time

This time there'll be no goodnite kiss
This time is forever
This time I find that I'm
Really losing you

My heart is broken now
It really doesn't matter anyhow
Now that you're going away
I only live from day to day

This time there'll be no good nite kiss
This time is forever

This time I find that I'm
Really losing you

To Holly and Charles......

You are correct......but who cares. This song is not opera nor will it vie for anything

by Reid. It what gives the song the roughness....the character.

Charles....if you want perfection, you are on the WRONG website/video.

When you know in your heart that the last time really is the last time. This time is forever....RIP Troy Shondell.

Surprising to see how many views this 60 year-old song has! It could easily have been forgotten amidst so many songs that are more celebrated. HOWEVER, it is unforgettable - for one thing, the message of "this is the last time" is an important event in all of our relationships, and not the theme of many songs. And then Troy S delivers it perfectly, with a good quality voice, but a bit "shaky", conveying sincerity and vulnerability. Greetings to all the commenters and listeners who have good thoughts about this classic. Didn't realize it was that big a hit!

@TheIrishrogue68

It captures maybe better than any other teen pop song from that era the pain of breaking up with your first real love.

@debeeriz

Love this song. Elvis started to sing it on a rehearsal tape of him laughing and singing “I forgot the words”. So he had heard it and knew the words.

A friend of mine does mash ups on the guitar. He always plays I will survive and now I'm going to have him add this song and red rubber ball. This is the fifth and last time I'm dumping him. Too bad there's not a song about narcissism, lol.

SXM brought back my childhood to me and when I think back on the 50s and 60s I truly am sad that they are gone. Nothing will ever compare and this song is proof of that.
