Trying hard not to fall
On the way home
You were trying to wear me down, down
Kissing up on fences and up on walls
On the way home
I guess it's all working out, now
'Cause there's still too long to the weekend
Too long till I drown in your hands
Too long since I've been a fool, oh
Leave this blue neighbourhood
Never knew loving could hurt this good, oh
And it drives me wild
'Cause when you look like that
I've never ever wanted to be so bad, oh
It drives me wild
You're driving me wild, wild, wild
You're driving me wild, wild, wild
You're driving me wild
We're alike you and I
Two blue hearts locked in our wrong minds
So can we make the most out of no time?
Can you hold me?
Can you make me leave my demons and my broken pieces behind?
'Cause there's still too long to the weekend
Too long till I drown in your hands
Too long since I've been a fool, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah
Leave this blue neighbourhood
Never knew loving could hurt this good, oh
And it drives me wild
'Cause when you look like that
I've never ever wanted to be so bad, oh
It drives me wild
You're driving me wild, wild, wild
You're driving me wild, wild, wild
You're driving me wild, wild, wild
You're driving me wild, wild, wild
You make my heart shake bend and break
But I can't turn away
And it's driving me wild
You're driving me wild
You make my heart shake bend and break
But I can't turn away
And it's driving me wild
You're driving me wild
Leave this blue neighbourhood
Never knew loving could hurt this good, oh
And it drives me wild
'Cause when you look like that
I've never ever wanted to be so bad, oh
It drives me wild
You're driving me wild, wild, wild
You're driving me wild, wild, wild
You're driving me wild, wild, wild
You're driving me wild, wild, wild
You're driving me wild
(Wild, wild, hey)
The lyrics in Troye Sivan's song WILD is about the thrill of falling in love and the intensity of physical desire. The song starts with the singer trying hard not to fall in love while walking home, but the other person is trying to wear them down by kissing them on fences and walls. The singer realizes that it's working out despite trying not to fall in love, and they're looking forward to the weekend to be with that person. The chorus tells us that the other person drives the singer wild and makes them feel like they've never wanted to be so bad. They share a mutual feeling of brokenness, but they want to make the most out of no time and leave their demons and broken pieces behind. The second verse repeats the same sentiment as the first verse, except the singer acknowledges that they're similar to the other person and their hearts are locked in a wrong mindset.
The song's message is about embracing the chaos of falling in love with someone despite knowing that it can lead to heartbreak. Troye Sivan's lyrics are poetic and expressive, capturing the longing, and passion of two people who can't resist each other. This sentiment is summed up in the line, "Never knew loving could hurt this good, oh." Overall, WILD is an ode to young love, that feeling of recklessness, and the giddy rush that comes with it.
