Arizona, Arizona, alles klar.
Arizona, Arizona, alles klar.
Arizona, Arizona, alles klar.

The lyrics to Truck Stop's song Arizona paint a vivid picture of the American Southwest, full of rough terrain, wild animals, and the harsh sun beating down on the cowboys who are living out their rugged, adventurous lives there. The first verse speaks of the dangers of the western landscape, where the rattlesnake rattles and the cactus is fiery, and the coyotes howl alone when the evening sun breaks. The vultures circle greedily when a man falls from his horse, and even breakfast is abundant with blue beans. The chorus repeats the name of the state, emphasizing its allure to those who have always dreamed of the West, but also the unattainability of those cowboy dreams.
The second verse continues painting the picture of the Wild West, with the stubborn mule complaining when it doesn't get its tequila, the old Native American medicine man communicating with Elvis' spirit, and the neighing of wild horses echoing off the mountains. Finally, the verse ends with the relentless sun beating down on the cowboys' hats. Throughout the song, the unspoken message is that the appeal of the Western cowboy life is undeniable, but also out of reach for most people. The singer dreams of crossing the Atlantic to live out his own cowboy dreams, but it remains just a dream for now.
