Taylor started the band in Liverpool, England, in 2014 with bass player Lewis Rollinson and drummer Brad Mullins. Known briefly as Trudy before rebranding, the trio released a series of stand-alone songs beginning with "All My Love" in May 2015. Produced by Spring King's Tarek Musa, it debuted the band's ramshackle, updated take on vintage rock guitar and harmony vocals. Their "Wild" and "He Sings" "double A-side" singles marked a move to B3SCI Records in 2016. Subsequent releases included covers of Elvis Presley's "I Want You, I Need You, I Love You" and "Baby Mine" from Disney's Dumbo. Featuring all original songs, Trudy and the Romance's debut EP, Junkyard Jazz, arrived in late 2017. They followed up with their first long-player, Sandman, on B3SCI in mid-2019.

interpreting these lyrics, we can see that the singer is feeling quite low and lonely. They feel as if the world has turned upside down and they are struggling to cope on their own. All they want is somebody to be there for them, someone to rely on, and somebody to share their experiences with. They want someone to remember and hold on to, even in the darkest of times.
The singer talks about being stuck in the "dog house" and how they want to be with this person they are singing about, who seems to be the one who can make all their pain disappear. They are looking for comfort, even though they may not have the courage or the words to express it. They say how the world seems to be falling apart, and they are left with nobody to blame.
Overall, the song appears to be about seeking comfort in another person when everything else has failed. It's a vulnerable and raw expression of human nature and the desire to find someone to lean on.
