Hold up, hold up, hold up
Afraid, a friend
Afraid, a friend
Set forth for the island
She went for the sky
Dropping the start
She didnt ask why
Youre flat on your back
Its going with the captive
When you spend like that
See me, see me
See me, see me
Come back, come back
Come back, come back
Set forth for the island
She went for the sky
Dropping the start
She didnt ask why
Youre out on the road, man
Youre flat on your back
Its going with the captive
When you spend like that
We need all the stairs now
Were staring at heights
Weve gotta crack that
You didnt ask why
Time after time I start to forget
As long as Im going
Its getting to get
Well, I got, well, I got
Well, I got, well, I got
The song "Capitol" by Trust is a haunting tale of fear, isolation, and uncertainty. The opening verse sets the tone for the rest of the song with the lines "No love, Hold up, hold up, hold up, Afraid, a friend." The singer is clearly afraid of something or someone, and they are holding on tight to a friend for support. The next verse describes the friend setting forth for an island, in search of something larger than themselves. The line "She went for the sky, Dropping the start, She didn't ask why" suggests that the friend is in search of something bigger than themselves, without questioning why they are doing so.
The chorus of the song repeats the lines "See me, see me, Come back, come back" over and over, as if the singer is trying to catch someone's attention or begging someone to return. The next verse describes the singer being "out on the road, man" and "flat on [their] back", suggesting that they are lost and alone. The line "It's going with the captive, When you spend like that" adds to the sense of isolation and despair.
The final verse of the song talks about staring at heights and the need to "crack that", but the singer didn't ask why. This line suggests that the singer is pushing themselves to achieve something, but they don't know why they are doing it. The repetition of the line "Well, I got" at the end of the song emphasizes the sense of uncertainty and searching that runs throughout the entire track.
Overall, "Capitol" is a powerful song that explores themes of fear, isolation, and uncertainty. The haunting melody and repetitive chorus help to create a sense of desperation and longing.

No light, all night, all night, all night
Off white, of white
Off white, of white
Such fun for a pilot, she conquered the sky
The jump at the start, that she let it pass by
You're out on your own, now you're flat on your back
It's buoy with a capitol, unless we're like that
Say your name, say your name...
Say your name, say your name...
Come back, come back...
Come back, come back...
Such fun for a pilot, she conquered the sky
The jump and the start, that she let it pass by
You're out on your own, now you're flat on your back
It's buoy with a capitol, unless we're like that
We meet on the stairs now, we stare at heights;
The ground and groundless, she let it pass by
Time after time I start to forget
As long as I know it's as good as it gets
We're like that...
We're like that...

Wish I had friends who were really into this genre, I've always gone to concerts alone (not complaining, it's great going alone, but it'd be cooler to enjoy it with a friend)

E if I’m right it’s like, dark-post punk and dark wave/ 80’s influenced synth wave?
