Par Compromission
Trust Lyrics

A séduire l'âme rebelle
The song "Par Compromission" by French band Trust speaks about the idea of compromising oneself for various reasons. It begins by addressing someone with long hair, asking them their name, and wondering if they are the embodiment of good or evil in this world on the run while playing the role of the ideal male. The song suggests that this person has almost god-like abilities to give love and make war. However, war is easier when it is made for docile souls. This person's power comes from their ability to manipulate and control many people, who are compared to poor idols made of plaster.
The song then questions whether this person is a hero or a villain by suggesting that they might be searching for heroin while wasting their abilities on seducing rebellious souls, only to humiliate them later. The lyrics suggest a struggle between hate and time and ask whether this person will be able to stand up and fight as the situation becomes increasingly challenging. The question of whether this person's heritage has been compromised through their actions is also raised.
Overall, the song is a commentary on power dynamics and the compromises people make in order to maintain that power. It suggests that even the most heroic or malevolent of figures are still flawed and have their own inner conflicts and struggles.
