Bandits joyeux, insolents et drôles
On attendait que la mort nous frôle
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
Ami sais-tu que les mots d'amour
Voyagent mal de nos jours
Tu partiras encore plus lourd
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
On the road again, again
The lyrics of Tryo's "On the road again" talk about a group of young people who are on the road to adventure. They are carefree, adventurous, and somewhat dangerous. The first lines describe them as being "young and broad-shouldered, joyful bandits, insolent and funny." They are living in the moment, enjoying the excitement of their journey, and waiting for death to come.
The second verse talks about their journey from Ireland in the early morning, leaving behind a brightening landscape. They know that one day they will be caught for their crimes, but they don't let that stop them from enjoying their time on the road. The chorus repeats that they are on the road again and again, emphasizing their restless and itinerant lifestyle.
The third verse speaks of the cyclical nature of life and that the sea always returns to the shore, and there are wildflowers in the ripe wheat fields - both symbolizing the inevitability of death and the beauty of nature. They urge each other to not think about it too much but to realize that they are just passing through.
In the final verse, they reflect on their departed comrades and how love and sentiments do not travel well in these times. And they end by repeating that they are back on the road again.
