Forging this sound in 2001, Tub Ring has been a force of nature in the left-of-center world of music, building momentum and inertia with every day that passes. The band's first album of avant-garde pop, Drake Equation, was produced by Mr. Bungle's Trey Spruance. Since, Tub Ring has released a total of 4 albums and a DVD/B-Side double pack.
With each album charting into double digits on the CMJ Top 200, Tub Ring's music has also been featured on Fox Sports, Xbox 360's "Amp Snow Boarder 3", various MTV/MTV2 programs, Spike and Mike's Twisted Animation films, and several Mt. Dew commercials. Most recently, Tub Ring played live in the TRL room on MTV2, and was featured in the MTV reality based contest show "Dew Circuit Breakout".
Tub Ring has created an enormous underground market with their bizarre genre of spazzed pop rock, with no financial help, no manager, NOTHING... except hard work, non-stop touring, and inventive song writing with intelligent lyrics. Clocking in at over 150 shows per year from 2001 to 2009 throughout North America, Europe and Japan, there are few bands that can match Tub Ring's determination and commitment to music. Touring partners include Mindless Self Indulgence, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Kill Hannah, Dog Fashion Disco, Clutch, Karate High School, Black Light Burns, Foxy Shazam!, and more!

Seven Exodus
Tub Ring Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And you fit the mold you were perfect in most every way a subject to behold
Now the news had broken through, and all of those stories grew
We wondered if you're capable of all they say you do...
You
You
Early photos by assortment, all of this made you important
Fantasies we're bound by wire, fiction told by your desires
Story holes we fell into, but it's too late
Cause we're obsessed with you
You came at last, you gave a face to all the media that left us quite aghast
And you filled a void, and your musings filled the broadcast air for all to be enjoyed
Soon we all were moving on
One last look and you were gone
Your future may hold many things, but all of us we're through with you
You came at last, and before you had a chance to speak your time already passed
Bottom line appease the sponsors take a hold and sell the monster
Innocence we hardly knew
Stories to add fuel to fires, in the end they'll call you liar
But the truth is we're all glad for you
The lyrics to Tub Ring's "Seven Exodus" are a commentary on the media's obsession with celebrity culture, specifically with the rise and fall of one particular celebrity, referred to in the lyrics as "you." The song describes the media's initial fascination with this celebrity, who seemed to fit the mold of what they were looking for in terms of looks, personality, and story. However, as the media hype grew, so did the scrutiny, and soon rumors and accusations began to circulate about the celebrity's behavior. Despite this, the public remained obsessed with this figure, even as he or she faded from the spotlight.
The song's chorus, which repeats the word "you" over and over again, emphasizes the way in which the celebrity became a blank slate onto which the media projected its fantasies and desires. The lyrics reference "early photos by assortment" and "fantasies we're bound by wire," suggesting that the media constructed a false narrative around this person in order to keep the public interested. However, the truth eventually came out, as the celebrity's reputation was destroyed by scandal and accusations of wrongdoing.
Overall, the lyrics to "Seven Exodus" serve as a cautionary tale about the dangers of celebrity culture and the media's power to manipulate the public's perceptions of famous figures. The song suggests that our obsession with celebrities can have dire consequences, both for the individuals involved and for society as a whole.

"interesting story, i actually got a myspace message from seven exodus
himself saying he heard we wrote a song about him (well, its not really
about him..more about the media creating a 'character', which is what
they did with john mark karr."
