We did a lot of this in central and South America on medical missions. We found a water pit with warmed distilled water worked great, especially for the impactions. They were so happy to be able to hear. A lot of the patients experienced either nausea or vertigo for a short time after the wax was removed.

Makes sense since there is a little sac of calcium crystals in our ears that help us detect motion and orient where we are facing/moving. With a big impaction being removed and a lot of poking around going on in there, there’s a high chance for some of those crystals to be dislodged or shifted, which would cause that sense of vertigo!

This brings back horrible memories of my chronic ear infections and post surgery treatments. I couldn't believe the size of the clumps of wax, blood and scab he would pull out of my ear each time I went in for treatment. I surely was NOT allowed to have my hand anywhere near my ear either! He was very stern in telling me I was to remain absolutely still while he dug away. The sound and extreme pain of that crud releasing from the ear canal is no joke.

Far out, there’s a reason audiologist’s use a camera when removing wax. The pain of touching the sensitive area of the ear canal is excruciating. You can also permanently damage the ear drum causing partial hearing loss or even complete hearing loss

Ive needed my ears cleaned my whole life because of eardrum/hearing issues. I can feel the pain she is in, there is no reason they should be digging in her ear like that especially without a camera. Patients CAN'T stay still when you're forcing pressure in such a sensitive area, you'll cause more damage. This procedure was incredibly rough.

I went with a friend of mine to an audiologist for an earwax removal. ALL of his patients were required to lie down on their sides so the wax was better retrieved and without pain. The retrieval went without harm to the patient's ears or any pain from the patient. This looks extremely painful and dangerous.

Obviously you've never had huge clumps of earwax removed. I have. Even if they're not using something like this and they're flushing it out with water, it still hurts. @daisy's field That's not fair to say that was acting like a child. The procedure most likely hurt quite a bit. The ear canal is quite sensitive so digging into it with a metal tool will feel rather uncomfortable. Plus, her wax was very large, hard & dry. No wonder she was fidgeting so much.

Aqui no Brasil, esse procedimento é feito em.2 etapas de 1 semana de atendimento. 1° é indicado um remédio que o paciente aplica 2 vzs dia e no 7° dia faz se a lavagem com água quente, ñ demora 30 segundos e ñ doe na remoção pois a cera está mole e descolada do ouvido. To anyone saying "WhO WoUld LeT iT Get tHis bAd???" It's actually not their fault. In fact, most people never even need to remove their wax at all. The shape of some people's inner ears makes it much easier for wax to conglomerate. I am one of those people. Poor girl was in so much pain. I'm surprised if the didn't damage her eardrum. The ears are such delicate areas and they should have been more careful

I used to have this done in hospital in the 70s!!!!🥴. Now they say it’s to dangerous to play with your eardrums in this way!!. I had perforated ear drums after and had to have a operation to close the perforated eardrums. DON’T
Let anyone play with your hearing! You will live to regret it.

Damn that had to have been extremely painful. It it's rock hard like that then the feeling of it grinding against your ear canal on the way out must be excruciating.

I had my ears cleaned, twice. The first one was similar like this, and it was painful as hell. The second one, the nurses used water to cleanse my ear after the wax softened by an economical peanut oil-based softener. I feel like this kind of method in the video was conducted only for the satisfaction of the doctor. LOL. Even when I watched this video, I can feel the pain the girl was experiencing.
