Their 3rd and latest Fault Lines was released on EMI/Warner in 2012, and lead single On My Side from Fault Lines recently won P3's Best Track Of The Year 2012 from audience votes.
Recently Turboweekend has won a bunch of prizes in homeland Denmark, including Hit Song of the Year 2010 with Trouble Is from second album Ghost Of A Chance, the P3 Talent prise 2011, and Best Live Act 2011 at the Danish Music Awards.
In the early years Turboweekend was a lovechild between the sexier parts of the Copenhagens underground rock/pop, and the increasingly popular and diverse electronic club scene. After self-releasing their first 12" single Into You. They signed with CPH Rec back in 2007 and released their debut album ’Night Shift’ that same October. An album that nominated the group for Best Act of The Year in the two biggest award shows in Denmark (P3 Gold and Zulu Awards), and first radio single 'Into You' became a 'Can’t Miss Hit' on P3 (Ugens Uundgåelige) the same week as the band performed on the Roskilde Festival upcoming stage Pavillion Junior. 2nd album Ghost Of A Chance, released on Mermaid Records (Sony BMG) 2009 presented a more focused, less sensationalistic songwriting and production, with roots and branches far beyond the sub culture from which the band initially grew. The Lyrics mainly center on the the ins and outs of love, but also touch on subjects like cultural prejudice (Colors), escapism Erase Myself) and metaphorical reincarnation (Up With The Smoke - Down With The Ash).
3rd album Fault Lines marks an even greater step away from the neon lights and harsh distortion of Night Shift. Find out more through the links below.

Boulevard
Turboweekend Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The golden road
A boulevard
Of ghostly trees
Around the blocks
Of broken homes
And through the gates
Of family
Say you never dream
Of anything besides
Keeping with the stream
Following the tides
Doing what you can
To try and stay the same
All the while you know
You could do with a change
I see you ride
In fairy lights
Another round
On a carousel
Around your eye
A hurricane
And in your heart
A quiet hell
You say you never dream
Of anything besides
Keeping with the stream
Following the tides
Doing what you can
To try and stay the same
All the while you know
You could do with a change
Separate the signs
Try and stay ahead
Read between the lines
Look under the bed
You're talking in your sleep
Slipping through the cracks
Once you let it go
You can't have it back
You can't have it back
You can't have it back
In "Boulevard" by Turboweekend, the singer describes an eerie yet beautiful setting of a golden road that leads him through a boulevard of ghostly trees, broken homes, and family gates. He describes how he sees everything turn around him in this surreal landscape. The song is about feeling trapped in a certain lifestyle and wanting to break free from the monotony of everyday life. The lyrics say that one should try to stay ahead of the game, read between the lines and look under the bed for answers. The song implores the listener to break free from the monotony of life and try to do something that will make them feel alive again, even if it means letting go of something or someone.
The lyrics paint a vivid picture of the environment and the emotions of the singer. The metaphor of a golden road with ghostly trees represents how life sometimes looks beautiful but feels empty and hollow inside. The boulevard of broken homes and family gates represent how sometimes people feel trapped in the lifestyles that they were born into. The carousel in the second verse represents how people sometimes feel like they are going round in circles without ever breaking free from the same routine.
