Their 3rd and latest Fault Lines was released on EMI/Warner in 2012, and lead single On My Side from Fault Lines recently won P3's Best Track Of The Year 2012 from audience votes.
Recently Turboweekend has won a bunch of prizes in homeland Denmark, including Hit Song of the Year 2010 with Trouble Is from second album Ghost Of A Chance, the P3 Talent prise 2011, and Best Live Act 2011 at the Danish Music Awards.
In the early years Turboweekend was a lovechild between the sexier parts of the Copenhagens underground rock/pop, and the increasingly popular and diverse electronic club scene. After self-releasing their first 12" single Into You. They signed with CPH Rec back in 2007 and released their debut album ’Night Shift’ that same October. An album that nominated the group for Best Act of The Year in the two biggest award shows in Denmark (P3 Gold and Zulu Awards), and first radio single 'Into You' became a 'Can’t Miss Hit' on P3 (Ugens Uundgåelige) the same week as the band performed on the Roskilde Festival upcoming stage Pavillion Junior. 2nd album Ghost Of A Chance, released on Mermaid Records (Sony BMG) 2009 presented a more focused, less sensationalistic songwriting and production, with roots and branches far beyond the sub culture from which the band initially grew. The Lyrics mainly center on the the ins and outs of love, but also touch on subjects like cultural prejudice (Colors), escapism Erase Myself) and metaphorical reincarnation (Up With The Smoke - Down With The Ash).
3rd album Fault Lines marks an even greater step away from the neon lights and harsh distortion of Night Shift. Find out more through the links below.

Colors
Turboweekend Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Rolling down the street
Yellow magic
On the corner where we meet
I've had a vision
Blue oysters on the green
And there's no return
Once you have seen
Segregation & Monochromatic schemes
Give way to saturation. I've got monkeys in my dreams
Reaching up to pull rainbows to the ground
Colors are coming down
Colors are coming down
Listen up high and low
I hear it all around
Colors are coming down
Colors are coming down
Listen up near and far
I hear it all around
Colors are coming down
The Color Purple is pumping through my veins
I'll know my king by a histography of his brain
Any fool with a head can wear a crown
Things are going to happen, that you never thought could be
Look through this hole and who knows what you'll see?
Black Francis making love to the white clown
Colors are coming down
Colors are coming down
Listen up high and low
I hear it all around
Colors are coming down
Colors are coming down
Listen up near and far
I hear it all around
Colors are coming down!
Colors are coming down
Colors are coming down
I've seen it high and low
I hear it all around
I've seen it near and far
I hear it all around
Colors are coming down
The song "Colors" by Turboweekend is a vibrant and colorful tribute to the beauty of diversity. The lyrics describe a world where silver apples and yellow magic fill the streets, where visions of blue oysters on green grass blend together into a wild palette of hues. These images are juxtaposed against a world of segregation and monotony, where colors are suppressed and kept apart. However, the chorus brings a message of hope - that the colors are coming down, breaking through the barriers of monotony and entering our lives in a burst of creative energy.
The second verse of the song speaks to the power of imagination to break down barriers and unleash creativity. The singer describes monkeys in their dreams, reaching up to pull rainbows to the ground. The colors are no longer just abstract concepts, but tangible and within reach. The lyrics speak of a world where the color purple pumps through our veins and where a king is known not by his wealth or status, but by the unique wiring of his brain. Anything is possible in this world of exploding color, where even the most unexpected things can happen, like seeing "Black Francis making love to the white clown."
Overall, "Colors" is a song about the power of diversity and creativity to transform our world and break down boundaries. It encourages us to embrace our individuality and celebrate the unique contributions that we all have to offer.
