Noticing it feels so much like the last one
Wonder if we'll miss each other again
Working in the city takes all your attention
Always need a little bit to adjust
Now it's coming down even more than last time
Hard to know if you'll be wearing too much
After feeling how the temperature is inside
I know that they're asking you
If you really want to be there holding on
Wait a minute when there's something going on
Are you happy elsewhere?
I want to stay out, I'm wide awake
Everyone I know here came
I'm thinking about a different place
It's somewhere nice but far away
I want to stay out, but when you're gone
I miss the heat always being on
The moments here now, but not to stay
Do I try to chase it?
Someone said it should be hard to forget
Tried to but I can't remember the last one
Know we'll probably miss each other again
Being in the city takes up my attention
Pretty soon, you'll have to go
Only got a minute 'til you're going on
I know that they're asking you
If you really want to be there holding on
Wait a minute when there's something going on
Are you happy elsewhere?
I want to stay out, I'm wide awake
Everyone I know here came
I'm thinking about a different place
It's somewhere nice but far away
I want to stay out, but when you're gone
I miss the heat always being on
The moments here now, but not to stay
Do I try to chase it?
The lyrics to Turnover's song "Much After Feeling" capture the feeling of uncertainty and longing for something more. The singer seems to be reflecting on a past occasion that they may have missed out on and wondering if they will miss out on another one in the future. The line "Working in the city takes all your attention" suggests that the singer is preoccupied with their professional life and may miss out on other aspects of their life because of it.
The lyrics continue with the singer pondering whether they should stay in the present moment or move on to "somewhere nice but far away." The line "Do I try to chase it?" conveys a sense of restlessness and a desire to explore new possibilities. The chorus poses the question "Are you happy elsewhere?" which could be interpreted as the singer questioning whether they are truly living their life to the fullest.
The overall mood of the song is melancholic and introspective. The lyrics suggest that the singer is grappling with feelings of uncertainty and a sense that something is missing from their life. Despite the ambiguity of the lyrics, the emotion behind the words is palpable and relatable.

Turnover reminds me so much of the strokes mood changes but more punk rock at first, even more chill later. Such great changes in sound for both bands. This song is amazing, vocals are great.
