Vrenna wore many different hats when, in 2001, he recorded Tweaker's The Attraction to All Things Uncertain for the San Francisco-based Six Degrees label. In addition to producing most of the album, he was among the engineers and did most of the writing. It would almost be safe to describe Tweaker as a one-man band--Vrenna was certainly in the driver's seat on The Attraction to All Things Uncertain. However, he did enlist the help of a few others, including violinist Petra Haden, Shudder to Think's Craig Wedren, David Sylvian, Will Oldham and various guitarists. Reflecting Vrenna's interest in abstract art, the album's title was inspired by a Joe Sorren painting called Elliot's Attraction to All Things Uncertain. In fact, the conceptual material that Vrenna wrote or co-wrote for Tweaker's album was mindful of Elliot, the affably bookish character in Sorren's painting. Six Degrees released The Attraction to All Things Uncertain in September 2001.
2002 was mostly dedicated to other projects, but in January of 2003, Vrenna signed a deal with Waxploitation and iMUSIC to release the next Tweaker album. He stepped back into the studio around the same time to work on new material, and set up an in-progress page on his website to keep fans updated on the latest developments for Tweaker.
In 2004 the band recorded the theme song for the id Software game Doom 3.
After All

Strength less but standing after all
I do not fear this after all
Not quite so fearless after all
After all the waning moon is full
After all the rain it feels so cool
Hope can we sing, it help me survive your games
Nothing you do can stop me, I live today
Nothing you say can keep me, I'm on my way
What will you scream when there's nothing left to say
And who will you rule when no one is left to play
Your party's over after all
A part of me missing through it all
Hope can we sing, it helped me survive your games
I'm not your plaything after all
Nothing you do can stop me, I live today
Nothing you say can keep me, I'm on my way
What will you scream when there's nothing left to say
And who will you rule when no one is left to play
The song "After All" by Tweaker is a powerful anthem about resilience, self-empowerment, and standing up to those who seek to control and manipulate us. The lyrics convey a sense of strength and defiance in the face of adversity, as the singer declares that they will not be brought down by others' actions. The dark night may be dawning, but the singer is still standing despite feeling weak. They proclaim that they do not fear what is to come, although they acknowledge that they are not completely fearless.
The song then takes on a more optimistic tone as the singer notes that even after the rain, the world can feel cool and refreshing. They sing of the hope that keeps them going, despite those who seek to harm them through their "games." However, the singer is no longer interested in playing along, and declares that they are not anyone's plaything. The chorus is repeated twice with a similar message: no matter what others do or say, the singer is determined to live their life to the fullest and not be held back.
The final verse takes a more confrontational tone, as the singer taunts their oppressor by asking what they will do when their power and influence has run out. The party is over, they declare, and even though a part of them may have been lost along the way, they are still standing strong. The song closes on a triumphant note, affirming the singer's resolve to be their own person and not let anyone else control them.
