Silent Machine
Twelve Foot Ninja Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I don't think I've seen anything like this. (like this).
I don't think I've seen anything like this.

When the lights go down, you can turn to us
When it all comes down, you can turn to us
And still you will run, oh how you run
When the lights
When the lights go down
You can turn to us
And in the final days
What's lost will be reclaimed
When it all comes down
You can turn to us
And in the final days
We'll reconcile the pain

I don't think I've seen anything like this. (like this).
I don't think I've seen anything like this.

When the lights go down, you can turn to us
When it all comes down, you can turn to us
And still you will run, oh how you run
When the lights

(You'll be the one
You'll find the sun
Transfix this heart
Return to start
The end is nigh
The moon is high
A thousand eyes
A cage of light
The darkness moves
Concious improves

Nothing was seen

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Twelve Foot Ninja's Silent Machine are open for interpretation, but it seems to touch on the themes of being lost in the dark and finding guidance and hope amidst chaos. The opening line "I don't think I've seen anything like this" presents a sense of awe and surprise, followed by the repetition of the line which adds emphasis and intensity to the sentiment. The subsequent lines talk about turning to the band when the lights go down or when everything seems to fall apart. The repetition of the phrase "you can turn to us" drives home the message of being a reliable source of comfort, even in the darkest of times.

As the song progresses, it shifts to a more optimistic note. The lyrics describe a time of reckoning and reclaiming what was lost with the band being the guiding force. The lines "we'll reconcile the pain" suggests a sense of healing and closure, which complements the earlier message of being a reliable support system. The chorus repeats once more, with the last stanza delving into a more esoteric imagery of the sun, moon, and thousand eyes. The phrase "silent machine" invokes a sense of mystery and enigma, adding to the overall cryptic tone of the song.

Just discovered your band today and I love your music! It's great to hear a band that can rock hard, and still have great lyrics and actual vocals as opposed to just screaming. Not to mention all the different styles you effectively move through. You've got a big new fan here!

I discovered TFN about two weeks ago. I had been listening to Gojira pretty much exclusively and these guys just sorta "took over" my playlist. Some of the music is out there, and there are more than a couple songs I really couldn't get my head around on first listen; now they're favorites. This is a great band, with loads of talent, and a sense of humor. I hope they go far :)
