@@dt5101961Nelon Game developers will patch out unintended mechanics. They want their game to be played and the experience to be a specific way and will change the game to keep it in inline. Example: Bethesda patched a lot of Skyrim exploits even when it didn't have to be because, like you said, it's a single player game. Dark Souls 2 is another good example. They changed a lot of PVE to make it more balanced because people were easily cheesing everything. That game in particular is interesting because PVE and PVP were separate so a weapon/spell acted differently depending on if it was an NPC or another player.

The TLDR, if you play a game a way that developers didn't want you to, they will patch it so you have to go back to the intended way to play. They spent years making a game and want players to experience it the way they designed it- even open world games.

I've been making my way through this game. i think the beauty of it is it's your personal journey. Want to play it like a traditional RPG go for it. Want to traditional combat, it's all there. Want to outsmart your enemies, usually an option is available. Other games do this as well but it never feels as organic and rewarding. I think mostly because everything you get has value. My inventory is jam packed with 100+ types of items but I know how they are bucketed and can be used. You usually have to make a decision. I know i can use my on-use artifacts to get around faster but speed mobility will be in sacrifice of missing 2-3 unexplored caves, the dude with his signs, side quests. I'm like mhmm, fuck it. I'll just take the scenic route. Close to 15 hours played and I've just made it to Goron City. I also realized they made zone specific gear super expensive because you could otherwise very quickly use the gatcha system to get fast movement and it's like a forced go explore checkmark. anyway, loving the game :D

Gleeoks are quite spongy. They have a LOT of health but aren't necessarily difficult, although their laser attacks can be hard to evade, you can simply health the damage if you want. Warning: the thunder Gleeok summons a thunderstorm, so be aware of bringing non-metallic weapons to that one.
