Reach Out
Twisted Method Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

One, two, three... Blow it up!! (Oh oh oh, oh oh oh)

(Where?!) Is my place in life?
(Why?!) Can't I get it right?
(Tell me!) What I'm going through..

Where we going to turn to, you feel alone I feel abused
Tell me what are we supposed to do?..
Suffer..

Reach out.. Your hand to me.. I understand you because I feel the same (uhh)
It will go away, this pain will never go away.. (ohh)
I see it in your eyes, you cannot hide your faces..
I know your going through it to..
Where we going to turn to? You feel alone, I feel abused
Tell me what are we supposed to do?..
Suffer..

Reach out.. Your hand to me.. I understand you because I feel the same (uhh)
It will go away, this pain will never go away.. (ohh)

It's building up inside I know I've had enough
It's building up inside I know I've had enough
It's building up inside I know I've had enough
One, two, three, Blow it up!! (oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh oh)
You feel alone I feel abused (we share the same pain)
I know theres one thing we can do
And that's fight together and get away!!
I understand you because I feel the same (uhh)
It will go away, this pain will never go away (uhh)

Reach out! Your hand to me I understand you because I .. feel the same! (uhh)
It will go away, this pain will never go away!... (ohh whaa ohh)

Overall Meaning

The song "Reach Out" by Twisted Method is a powerful message about struggling with the difficulties of life and finding comfort in the knowledge that we are not alone. The song opens with an explosive declaration to "blow it up," setting the tone for the emotional intensity that follows. The first lines pose existential questions, wondering about our place in life and why we can't seem to get it right. The song then turns to a plea for connection and understanding, asking someone to tell the singer what they are going through because they feel alone and abused. The chorus offers a solution: reaching out a hand to someone who feels the same can provide comfort in our shared pain, even if it never truly goes away.

Throughout the song, the repetition of phrases like "I understand you because I feel the same" emphasizes the importance of empathy and solidarity, particularly for people who may feel like they don't have anyone to turn to. The final chorus adds an urgent call to action, urging listeners to fight together and get away from the pain that holds them back.

The overall message of the song is one of hope, emphasizing the power of human connection to help us overcome the struggles we face. By expressing vulnerability and recognizing the pain of others, we can build stronger relationships and find the strength to face even the most difficult challenges.

This whole album is way before it's time!

I think Nu Metal was something that was hated at the time and loved retrospectively. Something that felt hoaky at the time and maybe endearing in retrospect which I think is very common really. There was a ton of corperate bullshit Nu Metal too which I think turned a lot of people off from the genre but some really enduring bands full of personality and creative energy too.

Zane Goodeker

I'm sorry for how long winded my previous comment was. Basically I think that Nu Metal has a more favorable critical view retrospectively. I know that's pretentious but they really didn't respect it at the time and it's something that actually aged surprisingly well for 2000s Rock, which if all is honest Nu Metal is more listenable than 90% of other Ots Rock was. Lot of it aged well even which cannot really be said for almost any other rock type bands from this time.

@Zane Goodeker itll always be like that man. Unless the world goes through some sort of drastic change

Zane Goodeker

@SlippyDips I mean I think it was slightly before the internet so in a way that fucked it but yeah kinda, look at half the bullshit that Pitchfork hypes and tell me genuinely that it will be remembered in 5 years.

@Zane Goodekerthe internet became mainstream in the mid late 1990’s. This came out in 2002/2003.
