When you're a stranger
Faces look ugly
When you're alone
Women seem twisted
When you're unwanted
The streets around you are whole
When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you're strange
No one remembers your name
When you're strange
When you're strange
People are strange
When you're a stranger
Faces look ugly
When you're alone
Women seem twisted
When you're unwanted
The streets around you are whole
When you're down
When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you're strange
No one remembers your name
When you're strange
When you're strange
People are strange
When you're a stranger
Faces look ugly
When you're alone
Women seem twisted
When you're unwanted
The streets around you are whole
When you're down
When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you're strange
No one remembers your name
When you're strange
When you're strange
The lyrics to Twiztid's "People Are Strange" shed light on the emotions and perceptions of someone who is alone, strange, and unwanted. The song communicates the feeling of alienation and a sense of being disconnected from the world, but it also conveys a deeper message about how people are quick to judge based on appearances. The first two lines of the lyrics speak to this sentiment when it states, "People are strange, when you're a stranger, faces look ugly when you're alone." The feeling of being alone can bring out the worst in people, as they are vulnerable, and can fall prey to negative thoughts and feelings.
The lyrics go on to explore the nature of relationships, dark emotions, and how our surroundings can shape our perceptions. Women are perceived as twisted and the streets appear whole when one is down. These are experiences that most people can relate to at some point in their lives, and Twiztid does an excellent job of capturing them in these lyrics. The song reminds us that we are all humans, and feelings of loneliness, rejection, and alienation are universal.
Overall, the lyrics to "People Are Strange" speak to the human condition and the importance of empathy and understanding. The song is a poignant reminder that everyone has their struggles, and judging someone based on appearances will not help alleviate those problems.
