Who Am I

And what would it be like, if you were living, all your
dreams
Why would you care if I, told you to live, but others want you to die
Who am I, to tell you something that you already know
Who am I, to tell you to hold on when you wanna let go
Who am I, I'm just a sicko with a song in my head
How would it sound, if I told you to leave, me
How would it feel, if I gave it all up, to be free
I just don't like to be here, a situation where you listen to me
Who am I, to tell you something that you already know
Who am I, to tell you to hold on when you wanna let go
Who am I, I'm just a sicko with a song in my head
And it keeps playing again, and again, and again, and again
Man, I'm so high, I forget the words to my favorite song
I've been smoking so long, what are you waiting for, just sing along
Why you looking at me?! I'm just like you, singing my favorite song
Well, What you want it to be? Don't let me break you off, sing along
What would it be like, if we were all, you need
A chance to change your life, while taking a break, from your reality
Why would you dare to try
When you become so comfortable with your life
The song “Who Am I?” by Twiztid highlights themes of self-identity, exploring the idea of what it means to be oneself and questioning our individual beliefs and attitudes towards life. The lyrics present a series of rhetorical questions asking what it would take for the listener to believe in the artist and urging them to live life to the fullest, free from the constraints and expectations of others. The chorus, which asks “Who am I?” emphasizes that the artist is not trying to impart any great knowledge but rather, questioning their own purpose and place in the world as well as their own authority to impart any kind of message.
The second verse addresses the limitations and frustrations of the artist's position, wishing to break free from the expectations put upon them and desiring to leave behind a situation where people listen to them. The final verse highlights the universal appeal of music, particularly the way it allows listeners to connect with the artist and find their own voice. The lyrics encourage people to sing along and embrace their own love for music, creating a sense of unity and shared experience.
The overall message of the song is to encourage self-reflection, to question blind acceptance and conformity, and to embrace individuality in all its forms.
