The band's name resulted from Halliday's mispronunciation of the local cinema's name, Tudor Cinema.
In December 2009, they were featured in the BBC's Sound Of 2010 Poll (of 165 British 'taste-makers').
Tourist History was preceded by Kitsuné singles "Something Good Can Work" (Apr 2009), "I Can Talk" / "I Can Talk Remixes" (Nov 2009) and "Undercover Martyn" (Feb 2010). After the album, EPs: Something Good Can Work (Remixes) (May 2010, Cooperative) and Come Back Home (Jul 2010, Kitsuné) - then, single "What You Know" (Feb 2011, Kitsuné).
Beacon (Sept, Kitsuné), was their second album, led by single "Sleep Alone" (Aug 2012, Glassnote).

Bad Decisions
Two Door Cinema Club Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I've been drinking wine
And I just made a big mistake
Happens all the time
Slay me
Come out from the dark
Sold my soul to television
Different kind of art
We'll be okay
We'll be okay, ah
We've got the time
Gonna work, it's worth it, find the perfect crime
You don't need to know what everybody's thinking
Don't get mad at yourself
Finally found the vision
Outside the line
Oh, come to me, my fantasy tonight
I'll apologize for everything later
I'm addicted to you
I make bad decisions
Lately
Think I've had enough
Of generation, information, every station
And I can't turn it off
So baby
Why you look so sad?
You've been trying too hard, too hard to reply to me
Where's the sense in that?
We'll be okay
We'll be okay, ah
We've got the time
Gonna work, it's worth it, find the perfect crime
You don't need to know what everybody's thinking
Don't get mad at yourself
Finally found the vision
Outside the line
Oh, come to me, my fantasy tonight
I'll apologize for everything later
I'm addicted to you

The lyrics to Two Door Cinema Club's song Bad Decisions centers around the idea of making regrettable decisions while under the influence of alcohol. The singer admits to being addicted to someone and despite knowing that they make bad decisions around them, they can't resist their allure. The lyrics suggest that this addiction is a way for them to escape from the overwhelming amount of information and pressure from society to conform to certain expectations. The line "Sold my soul to television, different kind of art" implies that the singer has given into the shallow, mind-numbing nature of mainstream media in order to escape their problems.
The lyrics also address the pressure to comply with societal norms and expectations, particularly when it comes to relationships. The line "You've been trying too hard, too hard to reply to me. Where's the sense in that?" suggests that the singer's partner is feeling pressure to respond to them in a certain way, rather than being true to themselves. The song encourages the idea of taking risks and straying outside the bounds of normalcy, with the line "Finally found the vision, outside the line".
Overall, the song Bad Decisions is about escaping societal pressures and expectations in order to take risks and pursue personal desires, even if it means making mistakes along the way.

I'm a 47 year old woman who'd never heard of TDCC before now. And I'm loving this song so hard. I literally cannot stop throwing my whole body into it as I joyfully gyrate around my house, making up impromptu dance moves over and over. Such amazing stress relief, both the music and the lyrics. When a song speaks to me like this my body cannot stop trying to move to it. Not just ear candy...for me it's total body candy. This song in particular is a huge gift to me at this difficult time in my life. Thanks TDCC...you've apparently been through hell and back for your art. I hope the future brings many, many good things for you whatever it might look like for the rest of us.
