Cody Ventura I've always viewed the entire song as one man's battle to cope with the loss of a loved one, told through his playing of a violin:

0:06 the scene pans in to the man (in his 30's perhaps) at his wife's death bed in a well-furnished, comfortable room as he solemnly plays along while her life drains away.
0:42 a shadowy figure grips his shoulders and whispers into his ear. Likely saying things like "It's all your fault.", "You could have saved her.", "You didn't love her enough." This figure represents his inner demons wrestling with his logical explanations that it is just her time.
0:53 The man tries to turn away from the figure, who stays on him, constantly berating him with how he "failed as a husband" and should just give in to his sorrow.
1:05 With an anguished cry, the man collapses to his knees, unable to fight back these feelings. He sobs as he plays, while the shadowy figure dissipates into a cloud that rips around the room, displacing ornaments, cracking the walls, peeling the paint, breaking the furniture.
1:40 The room is in a much worse state. The walls are pale and the floorboards are rotted, the furniture is torn. The man looks older now, a graying beard on his blank face as the figure, now accompanied by a few more tear at the room, further degrading it. They do not touch him though, for the music keeps them at bay. But he is growing ever weaker, and wishes for it all to end. The figures draw closer and closer with every passing moment.

2:33 Sensing his weakness, the figures attempt to close in. Angry at the turmoil they wrack at him, he attempts to drive them back with this powerful verse. They recoil at the music, and the darkness over the room begins to lift and fade into a dull gray. Alas, he is not strong enough to drive them away forever, and his desperate fight takes a heavy toll on him.

3:10 With no more fight left, he collapses to his knees once again and begins to submit to the figures. The darkness descends again, and his fighting accomplished nothing. But, when all hope seems lost, a warm, white gloved hand grips his shoulder, he looks around and sees a group of pale, but beautiful women begin to circle him to protect him.

3:31 With the last of his strength, the man stands, his gray beard begins to gain color and his skin appears more youthful.

3:34 With the aid of his protectors (you can hear their choir) he unleashes his most powerful verse yet. The figures, unable to withstand the might of this powerful music, rip and tear around the group as the damages done begin to mend, the walls gradually regain their color, the rot peels away from the floorboards, the darkness is replaced by a white light that renews all it touches, and the figures begin to dissipate, defeated.

4:11 The figures gone, and the darkness lifted, the women step away, revealing one more person in the room: the man's wife, still as beautiful to him as the day she died. She glides toward the man as he feebly plays his last chord at 4:17 and weakly collapses into her arms. The man, now old with a long white beard gazes into her smiling face as his life drains from his eyes with the notes of the piano tune. Closing his eyes, he smiles in victory.

The "story" is supposed to be metaphorical in nature. The figures represent his depression as he copes with the loss of the woman he so desperately loved. The room is his mind, being torn to shreds by this depression. He fights to keep these feelings at bay, for if they take hold of him (if the feelings take complete control), he will die (suicide). The playing of the violin represents this fight, perhaps representing a hobby or something to lose himself in to forget about her death. He ages throughout this fight, for the fighting drains his energy. This also represents the passing of time as e continues to live with this regret and depression. In the end however, his actions alone were not enough to save himself. The women represent some outside force coming to his aid. They can be literally seen as angels (pointing towards him looking towards faith, whatever religion it may be) or even some friends or family to help him cope (which could still be seen as angels in his eyes). With all of this, he is able to shelve his depression, and in the end, he dies comfortably knowing that he will see her again in the afterlife, or at least knowing that they loved each other, and he was not to blame. This is represented by his wife's spirit holding him as he dies, much like he did her when she was dying. He dies happy, having won his fight with depression and knowing that he will be with her again.

Maybe not as epic as an actual fantasy fight, but its just what I see. It is a sad song, at least. That's what it makes me feel. Sorry for the wall of text.

@justamanofculture12

Let me tell you a story,

The story of a endless day,

The day I lost her,
The day she died in my arms,
The day she broke the promise,
The promise that she will never leave me,
The day I tried so hard to save her,
But in the end it doesn't matter,
The day I was left alone,
The day I asked the God,
The day I asked Why?,

The day I tasted blood,
The day I felt love,
The day I felt pain,
The pain of losing your loved ones,
The day I lost,
The reason to live,

The day i fought the skies,
The day i lost my brothers and sisters,
The day the sky cried,
The day when I cried,
The day the angels ravaged on us,
The day when i fought them,

The day I tried so hard,
The day I never wanted,
The day I tried to save her,
The day I felt dispair and pain,
The day I could not help,
The day I suffered,

The day we tried to fight,
The day we lost everything,
The day a new Era begins,
The day we lost but,
The day we got hope,
The day we knew,
That we are not alone,

The day I lost meaning,
Meaning of life,
The day I felt,
The day I had to live without her,

Regards

3 years ago, I wrote a comment about this song. It was made invisible and was hidden away for some reason by either this channel or maybe was reported. I wish to share it once again for all.

This is what I see when I hear this song, and if i could i would make a cinematic music video for it.

0:06 we open on to a sunny calm day at sea. We travel (the camera) quickly across the calm waters until a fishing boat is seen at 0:20

At 0:24 we see the fisherman pulling in his nets of fish into the boat and this will be his last catch of the day

0:42 We (the camera) turn and look toward the small flag on the boat which begins to wave slowly at first but picking up speed.

0:53 The wind begins to stir the waters surface and blows through the fisherman hair and the birds begin to fly away.

1:00 The fisherman turns and looks towards the bow of the boat. The camera slowly zooms back out to sea to reveal a large storm approaching.

1:04 With a splash of water (a bit further along in time) the storm begins. The wind blows and the waves make the boat rise and fall. But the fisherman has been in small storms like this before and heads down into the lower cabin at 1:37

The fisherman heads to the small stove in the lower cabin and opens up a can of food and begins to prepare it. at 1:53 the camera looks out the port hole window to revel the storm outside and the lightning in the air. (showing the danger outside) The fisherman then has a seat in his fine wooden lower cabin and begins to have his small dinner.

2:10 The camera slowly turns to the wall which is covered in pictures of his beloved family. Pictures of his newlywed wife, there first home, there children with each picture showing them growing up and all the lovely memories of the past.

2:27 suddenly the whole boat shifts hard and throws everything in the cabin everywhere. The pictures scatter and the fisherman stumbles toward the door to get back onto the deck.

2:34 He opens the door which fly's open the wind roars past him. the rain is like thousands of needles and the waves crash over the deck like hands trying to pull it down into the depths. The flag is ripped from the boat and soars out of sight. The Fisherman now knows he is in no normal little storm.

2:52 at the wheel he fights the storm and heads for the port.

3:09 We appear before a light house. Its beam flashes out into the heart of darkness.

3:18 the fisherman looks though his binoculars and sees the light. He smiles. The port is insight. Soon he can be home again with his family

3:23 The binoculars suddenly loose sight of the light and only show darkness. The binoculars must have fogged and the fisherman brings them down from his face.

3:32 Then he sees it, dropping the binoculars in fear and shock we zoom out and see a massive wave in front of the boat.

3:37 The fisherman punches the throttle and charges at the wave Gripping the wheel hard

The boat begins to go up the wave tilting further and further back. Things start falling and rolling and soon the fisherman his holding on to the wheel to avoid falling back.

4:05 the boat begins of slide backwards and over. The fisherman closes his eyes and the boat tumbles and rolls down the wave before being consumed by it.

4:11 we slowly zoom out towards the sky and see the bottom of the boat appear for a short time before disappearing forever below the waves.

We zoom out fast until at 4:27 we now have a space view of the storm and see its large blackheart.

@Stai2012

All in, you say? So do you mean:

Gam kî-’êlêḵ bə·ḡê ṣalmāweṯ, lō-’îrā rā‘, kî-’attāh ‘immāḏî; šiḇṭəḵā ūmiš‘anteḵā, hêmmāh yənaḥămunî.

Or dare I go so far as to say:

גַּ֤ם כִּֽי־אֵלֵ֨ךְ בְּגֵ֪יא צַלְמָ֡וֶת לֹא־אִ֘ירָ֤א רָ֗ע כִּי־אַתָּ֥ה עִמָּדִ֑י שִׁבְטְךָ֥ וּ֝מִשְׁעַנְתֶּ֗ךָ הֵ֣מָּה יְנַֽחֲמֻֽנִי׃

I mean, as long as we're going all in. ;)

@Opalium

" I did not choose this path. I did not make the choice to turn this way. But I couldn't help it. It took me over, controlled my body and mind, blinded me. I wasn't able to think, wasn't able to see right and wrong.
It all happened in a split of a second, and before I knew it, it was all over. I found myself standing there without knowing how I got there, the blade in my hand, soaked with his blood. And there he was, lying dead on the floor in front of me. A large wound in his chest, his face frozen in utter terror.
Was it really me? It cannot be! I did not want him dead! I did not want all this! Why did this fate choose me?!
But now there's no turning back. They came here to figure out what the noise was all about, and what they saw cannot be misunderstood. And what can I possibly say? I am guilty of this crime and nothing can change this.
If I could only explain that it wasn't my choice...It's the curse that I carry that made me lose control...
Because my Heart is evil, Black as coal. The devil itself cursed me when I was young. 'Your fate is now sealed, my dear boy' he said. 'One day, sweet child, you'll understand it all'
And now... now is that time. The king is dead, and I am his killer. And deep inside, at the depths of my chest, beats my Blackheart. "

Listen close, Listen well
For I have a story to tell
It begins not here,

Give those burning fools a place to dwell
But don't throw thou wishes in an empty well
Regret is just so close it can hear the charming demon bell
Now go retrive those wishes
They are close
They are near
Two steps from hell
Just to slowly disappear
