Never Back Down
Two Steps from Hell Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
We will hold our ground
Not back down
We will raise our swords
From the ground
And we will fight the war to end
All the suffering, never fearing
Heros foes or the daring
Never waive, time has come for us
To take charge and fight the power
Standing still as they charge
We will hold our ground
Not back down
We will raise our swords
From the ground
And we will fight the war to end
All the suffering, never fearing
Heros foes or the daring
And their cause to the gods we pray
Never waive, time has come for us
To take charge and fight the power
The lyrics of Two Steps from Hell's song Never Back Down are about a group of warriors who are standing still as their enemies charge towards them. Despite the overwhelming force, the warriors remain steadfast and determined to hold their ground without backing down. They raise their swords to fight the war to end all suffering. The lyrics suggest that they are not afraid of their enemies, the heroes, or even the daring. They pray to the gods and vow never to waiver as they take charge and fight the power.
The lyrics convey a message of courage, determination, and the will to fight against oppression. It's about standing up against all odds and not letting fear take over. The use of imagery in the lyrics is also very powerful as it shows the warriors raising their swords from the ground, indicating the start of a battle.
Overall, the lyrics are very inspiring and uplifting for anyone going through a tough time. They encourage us to stay strong, never give up, and always fight for what we believe in.

@Opalium
" Let them come for us. I am not afraid. It is our sole purpose in life, after all: protect those who matter to us. Defend the ground we struggled to have. Never let anyone take away what is ours.
Year after year, rain or shine, day or night - we stand ready, awaiting the next fool to dare challenging us. Entire armies fell at those very gates, trying to claim what isn't theirs. And we? We kept standing, stronger than ever. With my own hands I've slain hundreds, maybe even thousands of warriors who thought they were good enough to get through the gates. One by one they fell at my feet, letting out their final breath. A worthy punishment for their foul actions.
And yet we are still here. Even after all we've been through. Not a single enemy could change it so far. So what makes them think we will break now? This is a question I cannot answer. It's hard to think what goes through their minds when they decide to try and push us out. As if the battlegrounds around us haven't soaked enough blood already, they keep trying. And we keep stopping them every time.
Let them come for us. They can try as much as they like, but they won't make it. We will stand strong, ready to achieve victory once more, to mark another page in the history of the world with the blood of our foes. And so it will be forever.
We will not yield. We will not break.
We will Never Back Down."

+Francois Ferdinand Did you find them somewhere online or just made them up?
Here are my fan-made lyrics:
Can't you see? There's the charge,
we will hold the grough, not back down!
We will raise the swords, from the ground!
And maybe find the one who led, all the suffering.
Never fear it, to hear the souls, of the buried and their calls.
To the gods we pray: "clear the way"
Time has come for us, to take charge and find our power.
Can you see? Its the chance,
we will hold the grough, not back down!
We will raise the swords, from the ground!
And maybe find the one who led, all the suffering.
Never fear it, to hear the souls, of the buried and their corps,
for the gods we pray, "fade way".
Time has come for us, disobey and find our power.
