" We were riding all night, five masked men in black on five black horses, making our way through a path we might never traverse again. Darkness surrounded us as we crossed the endless wilderness plains, guided only by the pale light of the moon. None of us said a word for the entire journey; perhaps we just couldn't find the right things to say. No words could explain our feelings that night.
Ahead of us we could see the shadows of the camp. A bunch of small buildings and tents, a temporary shelter for a travelling army. We were lucky to track them here; our intelligence have failed us so far. But finally we found the location. Now is the time of action. The thick darkness and merciless winds covered our presence as we approached the entrance. An improvised gate separated us from our prey, and two armed guards were watching the road, but we didn't have time to take care of those. Time is of the essence for us, and if we can't sneak in, we will use force. My hand instantly pulled the dagger from my sleeve as I pulled the reins, increasing my speed. Only a few meters were left between us and the gate when the guards noticed us.
'Halt! Who goes there?!' they shouted to us. My grip was tightened around the reins. Here we go.
'Wha the he-?!'
The horses hit the weak wooden fence with an incredible force, and within seconds the entire structure collapsed to the ground. Dust filled the air as the remains hit the floor, burying the two guards underneath. The horses fell to the ground as well, unconscious. Unsurprisingly, they did not survive the impact. We jumped off their backs and pulled the ornamented daggers from their sheaths, one in each hand, and then sprinted into the camp. The crash made a lot of noise, and confused soldiers peeked their heads from the tents, wondering what this is all about. It will take them a minute or two to figure out what's happening. That's all we need.
We split our paths and ran to different sections, hidden in the shadows thanks to our black clothes, and picked the unaware foes one by one. Tent by tent, bed by bed, the daggers slashed and the blood spilled. Some were slain in their sleep, some tried to put up a fight and some begged for their life, but the killing never stopped. My mind was disconnected, empty, as more and more lives were ended by my blade. The screams were heart breaking and the cries echoed everywhere, but we kept going. There was no place for mercy. Our orders were clear.
Then, a single red firework lit the sky. They found him.
I turned around and ran towards the location, taking down the last opposition with the skill only a veteran assassin could posses. I found him tied up behind one of the tents right near the camp wall, surrounded by my colleagues. His mouth was gagged, and his eyes told just as much fear as his muffed screams did. The shiny crown on his head was stained with dirt and blood, and looked a lot less fancy than it probably is. We gathered around him, and I crouched near him and whispered:
'Do not worry, Your Majesty. We will not harm you. You are of much value to us.'
His eyes opened wide and tears streamed down his scarred cheeks, dropping to the ground below as he tried to scream his lungs out in vain. I approached his ear and whispered in a venomous voice: 'There is no need to be so noisy, Your Highness. No one will come for your help tonight'. The man became silent, only his eyes still full of fear and terror.
I turned to my colleagues, excited.
'I will keep an eye on our friend here. Return to the camp and finish the job. Leave no survivors.' I said and raised my fist in the air.
' None Shall Live! ' I roared.
' None Shall Live! ' they repeated and ran back into the camp, and the screams filled the air once again."
