Melted
Ty Segall Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Bring-bring, made it tight, oh, chop this fear, oh
Once, twice, coming but it's nice

'Cause I'm melted, I'm melted, I'm melted
Melted, I'm melted, I'm melted
Melted, I'm melted, I'm melted
Melted, I'm melted, I'm melted

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Ty Segall's "Melted" seem to take on a slightly surreal and even psychedelic tone. The opening line "Bring-bring, made it tight, oh, chop this fear, oh" seems almost nonsensical at first, but it may be interpreted as Segall urging listeners to confront their fears and anxieties head-on, rather than suppressing or avoiding them. The repetition of "once, twice, coming but it's nice" further hints at the sense of overcoming or conquering fear.

The chorus, "I'm melted, I'm melted, I'm melted" is repeated several times, and it may refer to a sense of surrender or letting go, both spiritually and physically. The word "melted" suggests a state of fluidity or transformation, as if Segall is dissolving into something else entirely. The repetition of the chorus also adds to the dreamlike and hypnotic quality of the song.

Overall, the lyrics of "Melted" seem to encourage listeners to face their fears with a sense of calm and surrender, urging them to embrace the transformative power of letting go.

fucking hell, this was released in 2010, this album is 12 years old! I remember first hearing it a few years after it was released, it still sounds new to my ears, it was when mac had viceroy out, i remember discovering Ty Segal and Mac Demarco around the same time, damn that was a good time for music, don't really know too many more artists like this these days with that raw sound mac and ty had, although just heard one of the best new raw tracks the other day, Lonely Gimmick - Grumpy Days, I like his other work as well, kinda this vibe but like more old school funky with some Hendrix guitar

Time passes by!
I remember listening to this album laying on my bed, scrolling tumblr and playing with my NDS. I was 16 years old and knew of Ty Segall because of the OST from Scott Pirlgrim. Those days where Youtube's algorithm truly knew what to recommend.

@Victor Spoils the Growlers I think have unfortunately been accused of some shi on tour.. idk, I had a friend who was big into them.. I love the Chinese Fountain album, the one with night ride and some other good songs, Beach Fossils is a good chill/surf band considered to me, Clash the Truth is a amazing album.. same with the one with this year, may first, down the line, etc..
