Tycho is currently signed to, and has released under, Ghostly International, but has also released music on Merck Records and Gammaphone Records. His song, Dictaphone's Lament, was used as the track on a music video entitled "Live Life to the Fullest", which was made by and featured on the action cartoon block Toonami. Additionally, his song Cascade (originally made for an Adult Swim/Ghostly International compilation) was played during the final moments of the original 11-year run of Toonami in 2008.
Hansen began releasing music over 10 years ago with The Science of Patterns EP. His first full-length, Sunrise Projector, came out in 2004, and as the critical acclaim continued in 2006 with the release of Past Is Prologue.
It was around 2008 that URBmagazine noted Tycho as one of the Next 100 artists to watch, and Hansen continued to release singles and experiment with more live instrumentation. In 2011, his meticulous process saw the release of Dive, his debut full-length for Ghostly International. Tranquil, nostalgic and melodic, the record established him beyond the realm of IDM and ambient.
Now with Awake, Tycho's second Ghostly LP, the project returns as a true three-piece band comprised of Zac Brown (guitar, bass) and Rory O’Connor (live drums). Lengthy touring for Dive brought Tycho to its full potential, and in efforts to capture the energy on the road Hansen invited Brown and O’Connor in to the creative process. Both the sound and artwork of Awake capture Hansens stylistic shift, conjuring a more kintetic and percussive sensory experience.

Yes indeed, so much has changed , you are still young and let me tell you : we never stop learning... (dont wait till your 40 to do what you should have done in your 20s!! )
I can relate to your comment , this is very nostalgic now, I wish I could go back to when in first heard this .
Srry to be that person giving advice ( I never thought I'd be doing such things ) please listen: 1. pay attention to the advice your parents or mentors or elders give you, they mean well.
2. Whatever it is you want to achieve, start preparing now!! And in your twenties you shape and mold your life for as time goes on we harden like clay. If I could have many wishes 1 would be to go back to my 20s... if only I would have only known then how precious that time is.
3. If you want family and kids, prepare a bit but don't wait too long get married and have kids, do it before you are 30 so your kids can have you around longer.
If you want to go to college, go at it 100% if you are interested in a trade, learn all the skills and master it
4. EXERCISE
5. Drink water.
Well my real point is : whatever you want to do, do it in your 20s!!
✌,
dont know why I'm telling you this... maybe its regret on my part, and maybe I'm also talking to myself in a way... I have no wife, no kids, no real career, and now I find myself wishing i can go back and actually live my life... we all have a purpose in life, and I question mine... but one thing I do know : your 20s are a gift. Oh! And always always always listen to music that you love. Surround yourself with music.

The soundtrack of my university days, listened to Tycho on repeat while studying so many times to stop myself breaking from stress.
@JoshS24
same here! I listened to this album in grad school non-stop.
@jasongravely7217
Same same. They have created special art that can instantly transport me back in time, but still energized me in the present
@JCG105
Chilly Gonzales' Solo Piano albums for me. But this one is a new adventure I've used for work over the past 3 years. Glad to hear others feel the same about it 😌
@dylanjoy6383
No one has ever put it to words in such a perfect way.
@scottyzepplin8540
If only these artists knew what they got us through with their music.
@phylippezimmermannpaquin2062
Thats what comments will do
@michaelrainbow4203
They know. Their music helped them get through it, too.
@relaxationstation8587
This album was my jam in 2017. I just listened to it and takes me back completely. Amazing how music can capture time and emotions. Oddly got a little weepy. It's good music 🥲
@ThatRedhed
I get it! I tear up whenever I hear a few nostalgic songs from my childhood when life was great & my parents were alive - "Red Red Wine" gets me every time.
