Tribbett’s mother was choir director of El Bethel Church of Christ in Camden, New Jersey, and his dad was the pastor. Also, being a keyboard scholar at an early age, little Tye knew notes on the piano before learning the alphabet. During his teenage years, Tye played for various community choirs like Steve Middleton and the Tri-State Mass Choir of the Edwin Hawkins Music & Arts Seminar.
In 1996, what started as a group of friends and siblings trying out a couple songs became Tyrone Tribbett & Greater Anointing. In that same year Greater Anointing won the McDonald's Gospel Choir Competition. In 1997 they won the regional and national awards of the Wrigley's Gospel Choir Competition.
Tye Tribbett & G.A. have collaborated with a variety of notable artists, including Faith Hill, F.O.C.U.S., Mary Mary, Jessica Simpson, Justin Timberlake and Sting. The group's first high-profile performance was on DreamWorks motion picture soundtrack for The Prince of Egypt (see contemporary gospel-centric soundtrack The Prince of Egypt (Inspirational)) as Tyrone Tribbett and Greater Anointing. Their song "Let Go, Let God" was performed with the then-unknown gospel duo Mary Mary. The group went on tour with Faith Hill after impressing her whilst singing back-up at The Prince of Egypt premiere. This gave them the opportunity to perform at various award shows and television shows, including Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
In 2002, the group got its proper debut after signing with Columbia Records/Sony Gospel and releasing the album Life on June 8, 2004. The album, produced by neo-soul mainstay James Poyser, and included such songs as "No Way" and "Everything". Life also included a rare turn from gospel jazz singer and labelmate Kim Burrell on "You Can Change". A string of performances at various award shows built the group's popular reputation of high energy praise and worship.
For the follow-up to Life, Tribbett & G.A. recorded a live concert on December 3, 2005 at Deliverance Evangelistic Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Several notable artists were in attendance, including Donnie McClurkin, Hezekiah Walker, Damien Hall and Teddy Riley of Guy, Mary Mary, Brent Jones, Israel Houghton and Warryn Campbell.[1]
During preparations for the live recording of their second album, Tye and his fellow members of G.A. were hit with the news of deaths of one choir member and two others close to the choir, all within the five months leading up to the live concert recording. Rather than cancel or postpone the recording, the group turned to prayer and persevered with their preparations.
The December 2005 concert was released as the album Victory Live! on May 23, 2006 by Columbia Records with a DVD also from Columbia Records released on September 9, 2006. In December 2006, Victory Live! was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album. Its title track "Victory" was nominated as well both for Best Gospel Song and Best Gospel Performance.[2]
The group has had many performances on the BET Awards, the NAACP Image Awards and the Stellar Awards.
On Friday, November 30, 2007, Tye performed at the Experience Concert in Lagos, Nigeria alongside Don Moen, Cece Winans, Kurt Carr, Israel Houghton and a host of others. The concert was organized by the House on the Rock Church.
Tye's third album with G.A., Stand Out was recorded live at the Rock Church International,in Virginia Beach, Virginia in August of 2007 and was released in May 2008 and the DVD was released in November 2008.
Tye Tribbett has not forgotten the importance of supporting education as he prepares for an outdoor gospelfest in Florida's capital city of Tallahassee. Tribbett and Mali Music will be featured at Tallahassee Community College on June 18, 2011.

Everybody get your hands up
We got the v-I-c-t-o-r-y ladies
I thought I lost
But actually I won
For by his blood we all have overcome
There is no failure
And that same power it now belongs to you
Now it's time to celebrate, all banners raised
I got the victory, the victory
Because the devil is defeated and god be praised
I got the victory, the victory
Every situation I face I win
I got the victory, the victory
And everything works for my good in the end
I got the victory, the victory
Ladies say I-I was on my way to a burning hell
The devil he had my life set up to fail
But thanks be to my god who causes me
Triumph, overcome, to tread upon the enemy
Now it's time to celebrate, all banners raised
I got the victory, the victory
Because the devil is defeated and god be praised
I got the victory, the victory
Every situation I face I win
I got the victory, the victory
And everything works for my good in the end
I got the victory, the victory
Somebody who's listening
Right now you think you're losing
You feel like you can't win
Cause you've tried everything
Greater is he that is within you, don't doubt
Whatever you're in now, god said, you have to come out
Come out of depression, come out of low self-esteem,
Come out of poverty, come out of lesbianism,
Come out of homosexuality
Let's go, let's go, come on, come on
Now it's time to celebrate, all banners raised
I got the victory, the victory
Because the devil is defeated and god be praised
I got the victory, the victory
Every situation I face I win
I got the victory, the victory
And everything works for my good in the end
I got the victory, the victory
I've got the victory, the victory
I've got the victory, the victory
I've got the victory, the victory
I've got the victory, the victory
I've got the victory, the victory
I've got the victory, the victory
I've got the I got the
I've got the victory the victory
Everybody just dance with us
Dance
I've got the victory, the victory
I've got the victory, the victory
I've got the victory, the victory
I've got the victory, the victory
I've got the victory, the victory
I've got the victory, the victory
Everybody sing along with us like this
Uh-oh ooh
Uh-oh ooh
Uh-oh ooh
The lyrics to Tye Tribbett & G.A's song "Victory" are about the triumph of faith in the face of adversity. The song begins with a call to action for everyone to raise their hands and celebrate the victory that has been won. The song's chorus repeats the phrase "I got the victory" several times, emphasizing the idea that the victory is not just a one-time event but an ongoing situation in which believers are constantly experiencing God's grace and power.
In the first verse, the singer declares that though he thought he had lost, he has actually won. This victory is made possible by the blood of Jesus, which has overcome all obstacles and made defeat impossible for those who trust in Him. The second verse focuses on personal testimonies of triumph over the devil's plans to derail people's lives. The singer encourages listeners, telling them that no matter what they are going through, they can come out of it with the help of God's power.
The bridge of the song addresses specific challenges that people may be facing. The singer calls out depression, low self-esteem, poverty, and LGBTQ+ issues, implying that these struggles can be overcome with faith in God. The song ends with a repetitive chant of "I've got the victory" that invites listeners to join in the celebration.
Overall, "Victory" is a song of encouragement and hope that emphasizes the power of faith in overcoming life's challenges.

You seem to be very confused as to who God and the devil are. You also seem to be crying out for help. No one who doesn't believe in God or isn't curious about Him would be here listening to this song. God has been talking to you hasn't He?
And now you are at a place where you can either reach out to Him or reject Him. Please reach out to Him. Get to know who He is.
First off, God does not punish the righteous. Anyone that God has ever killed in the bible was a sinner that did something worthy of death, be it rejecting His will and doing something they shouldn't have done, or trying to attack His chosen people.
God's law is THE law. And for any law there are consequences. Sin is disobedience to God. The same way we have our constitution and our laws and anyone that violates them, for any reason, goes to jail. The same is with God. All one has to do is obey His word, like we obey the rules of our state or country. This doesn't mean that every time someone sins they will die, but some sins may be worthy of death.
Secondly, the devil seeks to destroy and consume any that he can by tempting them and convincing them to sin, though at the end of it all it is OUR choice whether or not we listen to him. That being said, concerning your gay comment, do you know where that comes from? That spirit of homosexuality? It is not your own.
Why would God, who created man and woman, heaven and earth, create us to be gay, and then tell us to go forth and multiply and replenish the earth? This is because He has not created us to be gay. We are born straight. Men and women have been designed for each other. There is no other natural way to create life but through a man and woman. Being gay is an offense to God because it goes against His design.
You may say that isn't right, but let me ask you this: if you created something that is your own, would you want someone else coming up to you and saying that they don't want it that way, when it wasn't created for them? Or for the thing you created the way you wanted it to be to come to life and say, why have you made me this way?
All things were created by Him, and for Him. We were not created for us. We were created for Him. And if He wanted us a certain way, then as His children, we should honor that.
That being said, the devil is a liar, and the father of lies. I don't know if you yourself are gay, but for anyone that claims as such, the devil has convinced them that those things the feel are their own. As someone who once thought of themselves as gay, I understand how that goes. The feelings come seemingly out of nowhere, and you think that you've either always been that way, or certain events in your life have started making you think that way. But the devil and his followers make you think that way, and then you, not knowing where the feelings come from, start to believe that those feelings are your own. They are not.
They are the work of the devil and they should be rejected, for those feelings will turn us down a sinful path and separate us from God. Not from His love (for there is nothing in this world that can separate us from His love), but from having a solid connection with Him, because the things of this world weaken our connection with Him, and can make us turn away from Him entirely. In addition, GOD CANNOT LET SIN INTO HEAVEN. So even though He will never turn away a homosexual from starting a relationship with Him, He cannot let them into heaven with a sinful spirit attached to them.
Therefore, we must cling to God, repent, and ask Him to release us from that spirit, so that we may be able to get closer to Him and have a lasting relationship with Him. We must repent, and be baptized in the name of JESUS for the remission of sins, so we shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. You cannot enter into heaven unless you have been baptized of the water and of the spirit, that is, being baptized with the Holy Ghost, for it is God's Spirit Himself coming into your heart, becoming a part of you, guiding your spirit onto a path of righteousness.
And trust me, it is an experience that, once felt, can never be outdone.
Please give God a chance. He is open to everyone, from all walks of life, from every corner of the earth, and will never shut you out.
Peace and blessings be with you through Jesus Christ, which is God the Son. I pray you will reach out to Him.
