Jamie
Tyketto Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

River of emotion, waterfall of tears
Strung out by the storm she prays would disappear
Burning on the inside, writhing in the flame
Darkness and the light's become one and the same
I'm here to meet you on the other side
I'll be the one who calls your name

Jamie - Did you think that life
Was meant to pass you buy?
Jamie - Reach out and take it
Ain't it worth a try

Surrounded by the ocean, swallowed by the sea
Thinking all her life that this was meant to be
Fearing every minute, waiting on the next
Holding on for life, she's hanging by a thread
I'm here to meet you on the other side
I'll be the one who calls your name

Jamie - Did you think that life
Was meant to pass you buy?
Jamie - Reach out and take it
Ain't it worth a try

If you believe in miracles
Well, it's that easy I'll get you all you need
Summer sun come shinin' down
Push away the clouds, set you free

Jamie - Did you think that life
Was meant to pass you buy?
Jamie - Reach out and take it
Ain't it worth a try
Jamie - I'll be there on the other side

Jamie - Reach out and take it
You won't be denied

Overall Meaning

The song "Jamie" by Tyketto is a powerful ballad that tells the story of a woman who is struggling with intense emotions and feeling trapped in her life. The lyrics paint a picture of someone who is overwhelmed, writhing in emotional pain and darkness, and holding on for dear life. The singer of the song promises to be there for Jamie, to meet her on the other side and help her to take control of her life.

The opening lyrics of the song refer to a "river of emotion" and a "waterfall of tears," creating the sense of a person who is drowning in their own feelings. Despite this, there is a glimmer of hope in the idea that someone is there to help Jamie, to call her name and guide her to a better place. The refrain of the song urges Jamie to "reach out and take it," reminding her that life is worth living and that she shouldn't let it pass her by.

Overall, the song is a powerful message of hope, telling those who are struggling that there is always someone who cares and is willing to help. The lyrics are delivered with a raw, emotional power that perfectly captures the feeling of being alone and overwhelmed, but also suggests that it's possible to find your way back into the light.

@coleguitor

a friend introduced me to tyketto, he told me this was their worst album, and he didn't liked, for me is by far my favorite and a great album and the only one I still listen to, it sounds less AOR than the others and more in the way of black crowes or zeppelin stuff

@laurenjane137

Jamie is such a banging song, is there a reason why Tyketto don't perform it these days. I know it was Steve on vocals but Danny could do some serious vocals on this.
