Leave Me Alone
Tyler Braden Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I know you see me just sitting here drinking
And thinking about calling her up
Just give me time to come to my sense
And commencing to just getting drunk
'Cause I just need a moment alone to think it over
I promise, babe, I'll forget
How she done me wrong for so long
But, girl, don't come over yet

And just leave, leave me alone
Why can't you see that I can't move on?
'Cause I see her face in yours
And I hear her voice any time you talk
Her lips on the glass of the drink you're drinking
And her hips in the way you walk
So leave me alone

Well I know our eyes have met from afar
In this bar before
Be there up in line to buy her a drink
Or out there on the dance floor
But I can't believe the night of all nights
She chose to come and talk to me
But I ain't heard a word you've been saying
I'm talking to a memory

That I wish would leave, leave me alone
Why can't you see that I can't move on?
'Cause I see her face in yours
And I hear her voice any time you talk
Her lips on the glass of the drink you're drinking
And her hips in the way you walk
So leave me alone

Just leave, leave me alone
Why can't you see that I can't move on?
'Cause I see her face in yours
And I hear her voice any time you talk

Why don't you leave, leave me alone?
Why can't you see that I can't move on?
And I see her face in yours
And I hear her voice any time you talk
Her lips on the glass of the drink you're drinking

And her hips in the way you walk
So leave me alone

Overall Meaning

The song β€œLeave Me Alone” by Tyler Braden tells the story of a man who is struggling to move on from a past love. He is in a bar and sees his former flame in the face of the woman he is talking to. He knows that he needs space and time to process his emotions and come to terms with the end of the relationship. He asks the woman to leave him alone so that he can have this time to himself.

The opening lines set the scene for the rest of the song. The singer is seen sitting alone in the bar, drinking and contemplating calling his ex. He knows that this is not what he should be doing and that he needs some time to get over the hurt she caused. However, he also acknowledges that this is not an easy process and that he may need to drink to help him forget.

The chorus is a plea for the woman to leave him alone. He can’t move on while he is being reminded of his past love every time he talks to her. His ex is still very present in his mind and he can see her in the actions and expressions of the woman he is speaking to. This makes it impossible for him to move on and start a new relationship.

Overall, "Leave Me Alone" is a relatable ballad about the difficulty of letting go of past relationships and the need for personal space and time to move on.

This is the most beautiful way to express the avoidant feeling you get towards love when you lose someone you deeply care for and never want to experience that loss again.

@dannymeyer3256

Trouble is they carry the feelings to future relationships and ruined the one that was a possibility for a good match. Seen it happened a lot. Never do they get over it and treat the one who wouldn’t be the same.
