Typecast was formed in the year 2000 in the province of Laguna. They were originally a quartet doing cover songs, and eventually started making their originals. As they were gathering more listeners with their increasing fame, two members left leaving them the option to obtain a new guitarist. This was later done in the inclusion of Steve Frank Badiola who did both vocals and the guitar. Recently, as of the release of their new album, the band has added another guitarist, Frank Fletchero, and in effect, Typecast is a quartet again.
Typecast released their debut CD Last Time, which is an independent release. The lead single of the album, also entitled Last Time, got the group into guesting in the radio station NU107's program In The Raw. Since then, their fame rocketed upward, primarily in the underground music scene. They were already performing in large musical events such as the Fete de la Musique 2005, and also did the opening act for the foreign band Good Charlotte in the latter band's Manila tour. The band, along with other famous Filipino rock bands like Kamikazee, Kjwan and Moonstar88; was also included in the compilation album Rok On! for Philippine Ragnarok Online.
They have also released their second album entitled The Infatuation Is Always There that feature 12 tracks of their distinct complex sound. With the release of the single The Infatuation Is Always There from the said album, they have exponentially increased their fame and their fanbase.
As of the moment, the band has released a new album, entitled Every Moss And Cobweb.

She said it's over
And I don't stand a chance
She said it honestly
I wished that she lied
Her words said it all
Minus me
And the understanding
She will never do
I never take advantage
And I don't have the guts
She dropped me out
And she's leaving me
It's the last time did I pushed too hard?
I didn't mean to make me cry
But that's okay who's wrong?
And understanding
You'll never understand
What you think
And what I feel
Doesn't make any sense
It's the last time did I pushed too hard?
I didn't mean to make me cry
But that's okay who's wrong?
And understanding
You'll never understand
What you think
And what I feel
Doesn't make any sense
It's the last time... [3x]
It's the last time did I pushed too hard?
I didn't mean to make me cry
But that's okay who's wrong?
And understanding
You'll never understand
What you think
And what I feel
Doesn't make any sense...
The song "Last Time" by Typecast is a bittersweet song about a failed relationship. The lyrics revolve around the singer being rejected by his significant other. He cannot understand why things fell apart and why he was left alone. The opening lines, "she said it's over, and I don't stand a chance," reveal the singer's sense of hopelessness and the fact that he knows he lost her.
The second verse is a reflection of how the singer sees himself through the eyes of his partner. She left him alone because he didn't have the guts to fight for her. And the lyrics "What you think and what I feel doesn't make any sense" summarize the hopelessness of the situation. The song's main point is about how the singer feels helpless and how his relationship has fallen apart despite his efforts.
Overall, "Last Time" is a sad song full of loss and grief. The song's melodic lines and lyrics beautifully capture the simplicity of the situation and express the emotions that come along with the pain of loss.
