Typecast was formed in the year 2000 in the province of Laguna. They were originally a quartet doing cover songs, and eventually started making their originals. As they were gathering more listeners with their increasing fame, two members left leaving them the option to obtain a new guitarist. This was later done in the inclusion of Steve Frank Badiola who did both vocals and the guitar. Recently, as of the release of their new album, the band has added another guitarist, Frank Fletchero, and in effect, Typecast is a quartet again.
Typecast released their debut CD Last Time, which is an independent release. The lead single of the album, also entitled Last Time, got the group into guesting in the radio station NU107's program In The Raw. Since then, their fame rocketed upward, primarily in the underground music scene. They were already performing in large musical events such as the Fete de la Musique 2005, and also did the opening act for the foreign band Good Charlotte in the latter band's Manila tour. The band, along with other famous Filipino rock bands like Kamikazee, Kjwan and Moonstar88; was also included in the compilation album Rok On! for Philippine Ragnarok Online.
They have also released their second album entitled The Infatuation Is Always There that feature 12 tracks of their distinct complex sound. With the release of the single The Infatuation Is Always There from the said album, they have exponentially increased their fame and their fanbase.
As of the moment, the band has released a new album, entitled Every Moss And Cobweb.
Wait
Typecast Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics of Typecast's song "Wait" reflect a sense of hopelessness and despair. The singer has given up on everything and feels as if the world is slowly killing them. The line "I gave up watching it all fall down taken away from me" suggests that the singer has lost something important to them, and they can no longer bear to witness the destruction around them. The phrase "my eyes are dead" conveys a sense of numbness and disconnection from the world, as if the singer has shut down emotionally.
The second half of the song is characterized by conflicting emotions. The singer has "waited too long" for something, implying that they have been patient for too long, and have not received what they were hoping for. They have also "forgiven too much," which could suggest that they have been taken advantage of or hurt by someone close to them, but have continued to forgive them anyway. However, "anger's telling me to bleed" indicates that their patience and forgiveness have reached a breaking point, and that the singer is struggling to contain their anger and frustration.
Overall, the lyrics of "Wait" speak to the human experience of loss, pain, and the struggle for emotional equilibrium in the face of adversity.
